The Packers must win the SUPERBOWL this year before anyone can OR should even begin to start speculating if they are the best team ever and are capable of continuing on towards establishing themselves as a dynasty.

If this 2ND YOUNGEST TEAM in the NFL can accomplish winning another title this year, then the hoopla can at least be taken with a few grains of salt..................

The Pats of the mid 2000s was far better. Equal to better offense with a much better defense.

If the Pats and Pack play in the SB is the total over 60?

It would really be somethin else if the teams with the two worst defenses (statistically at least) in the league played in the SB

Keep in mind, the Packers played without FOUR key offensive players today that in all likilhood will play against the Saints in the playoffs........................

LT CLIFTON
RB STARKS
WR JENNINGS
RT BULAGA

You are correct, RIGHT NOW, the Saints probably are a better team than GB..................this may and probably will not be the case come playoff time when the Packers get all of these guys back, as well as a couple guys on the DEFENSIVE side of the ball.

I agree. However if one remembers last year the Packers were riddled in injuries early on and then got healthier and We all know the result. The key this year is will the Packers get healthier or sometimes the lack of depth causes a rash of more injuries.

I will tell you this right now, GB will not make the Superbowl if both BULAGA and CLIFTON are unable to play.................but BULAGA has a very high probablilty of being 96% or better come playoff time, but CLIFTONs return is probably only around 55-45 at this time.

All this and assuming JENNINGS, PICKETT, and BISHOP are back healthy...............plus no other injuries occurring.

INJURIES ARE SUCH A KEY FACTOR FOR TEAMS CHANCES COME PLAYOFF TIME....................

Like I mentioned, sometimes the lack of depth leads to more injuries. As a lifelong Packer fan, I just hope that they get healthy for the playoffs as this team is awesome when they are healthy.

BTW Fish Where have you been hiding here in Vegas ? You and Billsey have been in Vegas for like 6 months now and I haven't spotted you anywhere ? I'm pretty much around town on a regular basis ! Should I be checking under the Freeway overpasses ? LOL

Orton and the Chiefs played very good in that game. Chiefs are still alive in the playoffs ! The Packers have injuries and their defense just isn't that good when they are missing several of their key players. Injuries have always been deciding Championships in all Sports so why are you trying to act like they mean nothing ?

After reading the lead post in this here Thread, I thought perhaps Bill Cowher had shaved his head and moved to Las Vegas with a beautiful Italian-American girl

Why are you and our Packers shareholder acting like injuries mean EVERYTHING?

Last week talking about how the packers defense is "opportunistic" and the team could be among the best ever...

Today making excuses left and right

Blaming injuries for poor performance on the field = the mating call of the loser

First off, try and find a single post that I have ever made that stated anything about this Packer team being the best team ever ! I also have never said anything about injuries meaning everything ! Lastly I blame their loss on a combination of several things besides just injuries. I said Orton and the Chiefs played very well. The
Chiefs aren't great but like I said... They actually are still alive for a playoff spot and they were at home. I also think that the Packers came unprepared for a very determined Chief effort. However to say that injuries aren't huge is to say that you aren't paying attention to facts. Peyton Manning is out for the year and did that have any affect on the Colts season ? Brady was out with an injury and did the Patriots make the playoffs that year ?
I could go back 50 years if you want but I'm not going to waste anyone's time ! Injuries decide Championships a lot of years !

Sounds like you belong in the "Politics" forum.

Kermit I agree, just as injuries affect/change betting lines they can also give great teams unexpected matchup problems. Some time they can overcome those, it depends on the caliber of the player and the backup. Last year Green Bay was able to overcome injuries and win the Super Bowl. When Woodson and Driver went down they darn near lost the Super Bowl.

I am assuming "The Sports Scientist" is a miserable Vikings or Bears fan(but who knows I can not keep track of all the posters favorite teams)

Nope.

BTW I'm pretty sure those were first string WRs dropping all those passes in KC yesterday...

If a team has a massive dropoff from their first to second string, that's on the organization. There's no free pass because of injuries. NFL teams have to prepare for every possibility. And any fans who blame injuries for their team - any team - sucking are gutless morons.

No injuries to blame today. What's the excuse?
