Best country or city to retire in for expats?

I would consider Thailand. But double taxation & having to pay way more taxes is an issue that make me rethink LOS. OTOH it's way cheaper to live there, so that's a plus for the finances.

However, if LOS (Land Of Smiles) was chosen, i'd probably want to settle in Bangkok or Pattaya. Though Phuket & Chiang Mai might also be considered or, at least, be worth visiting.

For you..with your failing health, your severe mental illness's, your history of arrests for theft. You need to just stay where you are. Hopefully you are close to a hospital or morgue.

Arguably all the more reason to live it up while i still have time, though i expect the - eternal - fun has just begun, for us all.

The last several years i've felt quite comfortable in Canada & still do, but starting to get an itch for Asia again.
