UT was not very good this year but they still win 9-10 games every year. he did win a Nat Champ against a very good USC team so it's doubtful that he's horrible.

We'll put it this way. When Watson Brown coached at UAB, Mack Brown was the second best "Brown" in college football. He sucks and Texas won the Nat. Title despite his coaching. He better be glad he won it that night, because if that Texas team plays that USC team 10 times, USC wins 8 of them.

Being a great coach and great recruiter are different things.

Saban and Mack Brown, two examples of great damn recruiters. Mack Brown, example 1a of not a great game day coach.

I can agree with that. Mofome stated that he considered recruiting part of being a college coach so that's why I listed him.

:chest: MEYER. HE begins really proving this in 2008. Florida
is very fortunate. Brown and his awful Davis could not
shine Meyer's shoes. To be best coach in SEC in future
years will show Meyer's ability to do it all in the toughest
group of great teams.

75-14 Record
23-0 in month of November
48-9 conference
Won 34 straight games between 03-05
Won 67 out of his last 74 games
A record six consecutive years as PAC-10 Champions
A national-record 33 consecutive weeks as AP's No. 1-ranked team
A NCAA-record of 63 straight 20-point games

USC has been in every game for more than six seasons
Turned what was at the time a dying program into a dynasty
Obviously the most effective recruiter in the nation
Three Heisman Trophy Winners under his regime.

Thank you.

Seriously anyone who doesn't include Carroll as one of the best has lost their marbles.

1. Tressel
2. $neaky Pete (losing as a 42 point favorite doesn't help). I could be wrong but I also believe the majority of those loses have been to unranked teams? Texas in the Rose and Oregon when they were healthy. Any other top ranked teams?

Think Urban Meyer and Tressel are the tops.

The most overrated coach is Rich Rodriquez. MF chokes every single year. I mean F'in Pittsburgh at home and a win takes you to the NC game and that had to be the most unprepared I have seen a team.

Whomever coached Mario Williams, the #1 overall draft pick ahead of Reggie "bust" Bush.:finger:
