On HBO's Real Sports, it was reported that the Brewers payroll this year was less than $20 mil. The rest was paid for with the luxury tax.

One question for Hitman - What prospects are the Yankees going to lure Sheets away from the Brewers. The Yankees farm system SUCKS. If they had someone so good, would they have traded it away for Garcia? Sure they would have.

BTW - the Brewers have one of the top 3 farm systems in baseball. Things are looking up in Milwaukee.

Who is avoiding the topic lmao?

The point was made...You insist that the NYY earn their Championships fairly, I say they have an unfair advantage....Most people would agree with me...

Yeah they win them fairly. If one $10 million player goes down, they trade for another one. Very few teams can afford to make a $10-$20 million investment because they don't have the revenue streams.

Are you saying Milwaukee has the same revenue as the Yankees?

First off have you learned to read the dates yet?

Secondly I never said all teams have the same revenue but alot of teams don't choose to put the money they make on their team back into putting out the best product possible. They rather pocket the money & trim what are already small payrolls.

Very true, look at Milwaukee, SD, KC, Florida.

If most teams could afford it, they still wouldn't & people know that is true.

Most owners just want to put money into their pocket instead of into their product.

Team who could really use him is Philly. Obvious Millwood is never going to be a number one pitcher and they have no one else on the staff to get them consistent big wins. If the Phils could figure out a way to get him I would make them the favorites to win it all because their offense can tear up and they have a good pen if they can get to the 7th with a lead. They are a team with a bunch of decent pitchers, but to win in the playoffs you need one that can lead the team and that description would fit Sheets perfectly.

Philadelphia does come off as a good match for them.

Arizona continues to say that the Big Unit isn't available but that stance could change. Could you picture him in a Phillies uniform?

WFAN was having a discussion about RJ & how the Yankees wouldn't be a player most likely in the sweepstakes. Arizona would want a few players who are ready for the majors or at max one year away. These are commodities that the Yankees don't have.

Journey Man:

Cool off dude. I agree with you. I know until their is a salary cap ala NFL, MLB is no where near the great game it could be. My question was sorrta meant with light humor to it. I know the Brew crew wouldn't trade Sheets for anyone on the Yankees. The other night I posted the same question in another thread asking why don't the Yankees go out and get Sheets, Randy Johnson (they are doing everything they can to get him), Roy Halladay, CC Sabathia, or Russ Ortiz because those teams aren't first in their division. It's obvious the Yankess are weakest in starting pitching and that will be their downfall in the post season.

Hitman. I wasn't calling you on it so much as responding to the Yankees unfair advantage...I have already posted and expect NYY to get Randy Johnson...I just can't see how anyone thinks this is good for baseball...EGD has other ideas though, lol.

Arizona is not really interested in what the Yankees have to offer. Realistically who do they have to offer?

The D-Backs best chances might be with teams within their division that have a surplus of what they want.

The question is will they do it?

You just can't give a legitimate answer as to why is it so bad that the Yankees spend to put out a product to win while other teams don't use all the money they have.

The amounts aren't as high as NY of course but they have money to spend.

I applaud Anaheim for spending money to improve their product & try to win.

Why is it you see the same teams rebuilding, rebuilding, rebuilding? Where does all the money go that they save from paying for better players?

What do the Yankess have to offer any of these teams? Same thing they use in the Free agent market.
