i saw an ad where topps was bringing back some classics.....seems like i heard a million cards total? i think they're packaging them with the new ones, so you might get a pleasant surprise if you still buy baseball cards
I wouldnt say it's that strong.
The only thing I have had interest in that past several years is autograph & game used memorabilia inserts...........
And those are the most worthless in the bunch...
Not worhless autographs are the ones you get an athlete to sign in person that you can't prove and always get that look or thought from someone when you try telling them "I got LeBron James to sign this one" so & so place.
The autos & game-used cards in these packs are authentic, stamped, and numbered.
It's the millions & millions of different rookie cards from various companies now that are worthles imo, no matter how low they are numbered to.....
There are a lot of fakes on ebay and even at some auction houses. I found some guy on ebay who was selling a base card of Barry Sanders with an autograph of Barry on it. The problem with this card was that it looked like the guy signed it himself and I even asked him that. I had Barry sign a jersey for me in person and I paid about $170 for him to do it (my current avatar) and the auto on this guy's card looked nothing like the real Barry auto. He then immediately removed the auction.
I also follow a guy on youtube who exposes these ebay sellers who are scamming people with fake autographs. You just have to watch what you buy and who is selling it to you. If it is a photo, baseball, football, jersey, etc.; make sure it is authenticated by someone like PSA/DNA.

I pulled both Michael Jordan AND Penny Hardaway Autograph Redemption cards in a sports store in the mall the first year Upper Deck SPX put them out & I got $3500 for the Jordan and $500 for the Hardaway later on (They were booking $5,000 and $1000) so I wouldn't call that worthless......
rookie autos in baseball are still king, look up the rare young guys in the past few yrs in bowman chrome, nice lincecum, heyward, pujols rc autos sell for 4 figures
goblue you wont sniff a derek jeter game used auto for $15 try 6 x 7 times that amount. Jeter autos can be had for around $100 depending on the brand and quantity made. Non rookie autos always have a steep drop off compared to 1st year autos
scoops as for your mariano, he doesnt sign much, but without a coa from a reputable company, you would be hard pressed to really get anything for it
