Barry Bonds Conspiracy Theory...

Is it possible that bonds is faking injury or injured himself on purpose to avoid people seeing how bad he would be without steriod use?

for instance, why does he refuse to use team doctors?

if he never comes back, this theory could gain some credibility....

there is no way that this is true. no offense, but thats about the stupidest thing i've ever read on this site. like the giants are going to let bonds sit out while collecting 18 million dollars. the chances of this "theory" being true are about the same as the chances of jj gold being a successful sports bettor.

no team is going to let a player sit out w/ a fake injury esp if they are making
18 mil.

I am always amazed at the intense reaction on any subject related to Bonds and this thread is no different. Bottom line in my opinion is that Barry may very well not return to play this season at all, particularly if the Giants are out of contention with 2 months to go. He would basically be starting spring training in mid July at the earliest and not hit any kind of form until sometime in August. Believe both the Giants organization and Bonds will decide to not take any further chances with his knee this year and wait until next year. With that said, and 2006 being the last year of his contract extension, wouldn't expect him to reach Aaron, should he decide to play again. Believe he would like to try and surpass Ruth but has often stated in recent years that he may never reach Aaron and the Giant organization extended his contract one additional year through 2006 to try and do so. Personally, it would not surprise me if Barry not only didn't return this year, but after sitting out the year, decided to retire permanently.

I don't think he's hurt near as bad as he claims. If he comes back he'll hit about 15-20 homers if he gets 500 at-bats and he knows it. He's looking at big-time embarassment if he returns.

yeah, he wants to hang on the beat ruth because babe ruth was a joke. he never faced black pitchers so his records mean nothing. he was also fat.
