The school's class room doors lock when class starts - they cannot be opened from the outside - the kid was expelled from school - before he was expelled he was not allowed on campus with a backpack - jayzus, the school knew the kid was likely to do something and there was nothing they could do
The school also has cops that work there. If someone wants to kill bad enough, there really isn’t a lot more you can do outside of keeping guns out of the hands of crazy people. But for some damn reason the NRA and many of its supporters don’t want that, and they pay a shit ton to politicians to fight it.

This high school is in a very nice school district where people will overpay for their homes just to get into this school district. It’s one of the nicer places to live in south Florida if u don’t want to live close to the beach or intracoatal. One of the best communities to raise a family. Reporter interviewing a mom on CNN. Mom is on the phone with her daughter who is waiting at the Marriott for her mom to come pick her up. Mom tells the daughter into the phone (while the reporter holds the mic up to the mom) "Yeah, I'll be right there. As soon as I do this interview, I'll be right there. Okay. Bye. Love you." Hangs up phone. There's a little boy with her who she hands the phone to (assuming it's her young son, the teen daughter's little brother,) and then the mom engages with the reporter to answer the reporter's questions. The phone rings immediately, little boy picks it up, hands it to his mom. "Mom, it's Sofia again." "Okay, tell her I'll call her back right after the interview." She grabs the phone, doesn't put it to her ear, just says into the receiver, "I'll call you right back after this interview," and hangs up.
