Just yesterday the Secretary asked me what I was planning for the weekend. I told her I was flying to Cal. to see Johnny Mathis concert at the Orange County performing Arts Center. She asked me " Who's Johnny Mathis " ? I mentioned a few of his songs " Chances Are, The twelfth of Never, Wonderful, Wonderful, Maria " and She still had no idea ! It was then that I realized that perhaps I'm getting along in years ! :lolBIG:

I would say early thirties. I had no problem with turning thirty, but once I got into the hyphenated years (e.g., thirty-one, thirty-two, etc.) I started feeling old. Here are other things that made/make me feel old:

1) Playing basketball for about 20 minutes and feeling like I got mugged by five people the next morning.

2) Falling asleep watching a show when it's like 11 o'clock, on a "non-work night."

3) Finally getting to the point where I had to exercise to keep a gut off. I've always been able to eat what I wanted, up until the late 20's.

4) Being at work and dreading the fact that I have to go to the other end of the office to get something.

5) Realizing that some of my favorite shows as a kid are now 20+ years old.

6) Having my knees pop everytime I bend down to pick something up.

7) Perhaps my favorite... joking around about "feeling old" or saying "Man, I'm an old man" and not having anyone laugh or correct me. The first time that happened was like being kicked squarely in the testiculars.

And FWIW, I'm 35 now...

I can tell you one thing that made a HUGE difference in how I feel:

A new mattress

My girlfriend and I of 6.5 years recently split up amicably. Since we purchased a house together it's not like I could just move out. I transferred to the 2nd bedroom and a new bed. The mattress in there at first felt like someone put a fitted sheet over a piece of plywood. Very quickly, it became more comfortable and I noticed a 1000% improvement in my back.

I used to throw my back out with the slightest movement and it would kill me for a week. I used to move very slowly and carefully for fear of tweaking it. Now, my back feels great. I really can't describe how much better I feel all because I changed mattresses.

If anyone else has this problem, ditch the soft pillow top mattress and go with a regular mattress that's either Firm or Medium Firm.

Enfuego, You know as well as Anyone here at the RX...we don't let stuff like this in the Offshore Forum.

As far as what He alleges, he has Done...Doesn't mean it's Proof that He indeed did what he says. ( Do you Believe Everything that people post ? )
Don't think so, as I think you are smarter than that.

Internet Talk is...Well, Just That !! ( Internet talk )

If you think it's true, Take it to the RR

People don't really admit to rape very often Betall. It's really not something to be proud of or brag about.

ill feel old when i cant pound it anymore

its cheesy for ppl to say but just hit the gym and the energy is there

*This is a post with which most all of us can agree

I felt "older" for the first time in spring of 2005 (age 45) when I visited my then 19-year old son and a group of us got together to play some basketball. It was him, three of his 19 year old friends and his 35 year old phys ed coach from high school.

I still had all the mechanics, but had to break about every five minutes for a couple minutes rest.

Since then, I've been more committed to walking 10+ miles a week and I've got increased stamina as a result

pretty realistic.

Some are saying 25.

35-40 is halftime for most men, as in you've lived half your life.

All depends on how sedentary you've allowed yourself to become.

I can bike likely double the distance today at age 49 as I could at age 39.

One of my business colleagues is 62 and is highly competitive in bicycle racing several times a year. He routinely outrides men 20 years his junior.

Don't know about that. I feel great. Still play dek hockey, flag football, softball and drink like a pig, all at age 50. Lucky I guess, but also have never smoked.:drink:

Would love to have an outlet for deck hockey.

Beach volleyball is pretty solid workout as well.

Don't know why JW, but thought you were closer to my age. Just seem so mature. Let me know how the party goes. If you could email me pictures I know I can raise a lot more for next year.

Oh you had it right. He's just a couple years ahead of us, MP. His earlier post was in response to "when did you start feeling old?"

VD,

Cool... Is there much of a language barrier? What do you find
yourself doing in a typical day there? Doing a lot of golfing?

How does the cost of living compare to the US, and Costa Rica?

I golf with my friends on Mon. Wed, and Friday....somedays we add a fourth day and never play on weekends...we tee off religiously before 7:30, we have lunch and then go our separate ways...I spend a bunch of time in a backgammon club in the afternoon...there are some ranked players who live here and I am learning a lot...

Not much language barrier unless you travel outside the city into the country...

Pattaya is on the water so there are tons of water sports for you...jet sking, snorkling, pari-sailing, banana boats, windsurfing, etc...the animal zoos are amazing and the cultural sites are beautiful...there is even a formula one go kart track here...

The women are really amazing and the cost of living is way cheaper than the US and Costa Rica...as a foreigner you cannot own land, own a home, or have a manual job that a local can do...you can own a condo...

At my age, I am where I want to be....anyone here that wants to know more, just give me a PM....we are 13 hours ahead of the US in time zones...
