Wildcat, That depends on how close to EV all your purchases are. The more stuff a person buys, the more likely it is they would have ended up valuing the cash more than the stuff. If these programs didn't encourage people to buy more than they otherwise would, they wouldn't offer them. So to maximize value, expected or otherwise, it can be a big help to not approach buying stuff as an asset
I have Visa to mail me Target gift cards a few times a year. All I see it as is that they're profits they make off me losing my money to stores and shit is a lot more than $25 every two or three months

Looks like you think everyone lacks self control and spends money on things we don't need. I charge about $6-10K a month for work related activities. Why would I let 72-100K in miles a year go.
