I've heard this exact same thing from a few people too....absolutely zero tolerance on the drug issue. Fail one test and you're gone.

Yeah he says safety is the biggest issue. Any time an oil company gets sued by someone who gets injured they lose. Makes sense.

The options are vast.
All depends on how smart you are and how you present yourself.

Fair enough... Any suggestions on where and how to present yourself? I am being very serious. I will pm you if you would rather not discuss on the open board.

If the price is right.

It is just been something that has intrigued me, but there isn't much in the way of information on a lot of these websites. There are vague job descriptions but not much on schedules, education requirements, or salaries. I just was hoping to be pointed in the right direction.

I could move to ND tomorrow for $330K per year with free housing and 1200 per month vehicle allowance if I wanted to.

I've talked to a lot of people and this is certainly and exception...talked to a guy the other day where his company is hiring setting up housing out there....26,500 a month....work every other month. Not a bad gig. Williston area aka the wild wild west...70 guys to every 1 chick...been told winter conditions are shit and it becomes a lonely lonely place....if anyone is planning on going out there I've been told to avoid the Williston area at all costs.
LoL, you can't avoid Williston if your going to work in the oil fields. Watford City is now the size that Williston used to be. Amazing. http://billingsgazette.com/news/state-and-regional/montana/article_818c3169-b8cc-5254-bfc7-0a4fb930de5e.html

Just turned 21 and working security, have no experience in the old industry you think they would hire me? Im looking to make some money right now. I have no family, no kids and a 9.00 an hr job that i can quit if needed.i have no house under my name and no car with decent enough credit to start life on my own as long as im getting paid. Is that the kind of person they are looking for? WILLING TO MOVE AWAY FROM VEGAS AS WELL, I WOULD DO THIS PROBALY FOR THE MONEY AND THE EXPERIENCE.

Yes.

Biggest thing to a lot of these companies out there is the person has no kids or a wife back home....to fvck with his head.

What exactly does this entail? Is it labor work on housing projects? Basically it works out to 30 on 30 off correct? I did that on a barge for a few months after high school, and I kind of enjoyed it. What company is doing this? Is it Union work?

Setting up housing for "mobile city's"....NON Union. I can get the name of the company for you, from what I was told even with the great wages, they cannot keep employees around.

The thing about any of these jobs out there is...if you've got family, more than likely you're gonna be away from them, the work in a lot of cases is physically demanding, you're going to put in a lot of hours....it's a lonely lonely place and even lonelier in the winters, and the fact is people do die out there.

It sounds like a lonely place, but if it is truly 30-30 you can submerse yourself in the work and put away some coin.

I would like to see the name of the company, if possible.

I have a very good job and make a comfortable living, just thinking a challenge and seeing something different might be good.

I was an engineer for Caterpillar....my company just moved to GA, and I decided not to relocate. I'm really thinking of going out to North Dakota myself to get a better understanding of what's going on....maybe to work or maybe to generate a few business ideas...you've got guys out there pulling in enormous amounts of cash and not having many places to spend it. My family has 300 acres just West of Williston but that's all going thru probate due to my Grandma never fully transferring it into my Father's name before she passed.
