one of the stats they used was "who led his team in scoring, assists & rebounding" in more games
really? we all know MJ wasn't known for "rebounding", just winning more.
and MJ didn't shop his talents around with two other all-stars either, looking to buy a championship

What do mean not exactly stacked?
Pippen and Rodman are HOFers and 2 of the best defensive players of all time. Kukoc obviously very solid....Also Phil Jackson is 1 of the best coaches (if not the best) of all time
Anyway, do you think LeBron should've stayed in Cle? I just don't get that thinking and that is what I am asking about.
both have won the exact same amount of playoff series at this point
Rodman was only there for the second run
What is wrong with wanting to play with 2 other all stars? Most of the great players in NBA history got to play with 1-2 other all stars on their teams. It isn't his fault Cleveland couldn't provide even 1 low-end all-star in 7 years....
At the time I understood why people hated on LeBron, cause he looked like a douche doing the decision, not 4-5-6-7 etc but I'm surprised people hate on him for going to Miami now.
What do you (or anyone else can chime in) think he should've done in that situation? I don't really see any obligation to do anything else.
If it were me I would've either gone Miami or NYK but Miami already had Wade in place and it seems like Bosh wanted to go there too.
One thing I will say and I can't prove it but it is just obvious, is you put many of the best players on the '03-10 Cavs in the current era of free agency, player movement, endorsements, big markets etc and I think people would be surprised how many guys are staying in Cleveland in that spot. You think Larry Bird is signing up for 5 more years to play for the Cavs in his prime with Mo Williams as his sidekick? I can't prove he or other greats wouldn't, but I'd bet against it and highly doubt it.
This isn't really directed at just you either willie, my friend was arguing this when we were watching game 7 that he should've stayed in Cle cause he is from there, stick it out, etc...it's like you go live there and stick it out.
He didn't need to do this because his team was already stacked.
it is what it is, nothing more and nothing less
in his desire to win a championship, he got together with two other all-star free agents and decided they were all going to sign with the same team. Something unprecedented in American sports.
if that's going to be the trend, I'm not going to like it
and I'm not going to respect him for doing that either

So if you get drafted by Cleveland a small market team that other top players don't want to go to, then you play there 4 years, re-sign there for another 3 and in those 7 years for the most part the team can't adequately surround you with talent, you can't moveon to go play with better players? What is he supposed to stay ther his whole life?
A big reason it is unprecedentd in american sports is because free agency has only been around like 20 years and only about 14 with the new NBA CBA. I'm sure you will see more top players move from team to team to be in a spot they want to be in. If you are going to make similar $ you are highly incentivized to want to play in a winning big market.
This has happened before just via trades, so it is OK for guys to come together via trades but not free agency? I don't see how that makes sense. If you want to play on a good team and your team doesn't draft or trade for good players, that is the only option you have of playing on a good team.
The Celtics big 3 just did it and Kevin Garnett is on record as saying he wishes he went to the Celtics earlier in his career because you can't get your prime years in your 20s back.
I think some of the reason people hate on LeBron for it is because of WHERE he went. Miami, a soulless, touristy place that has no bball history. Basically just a rich 26 year old dude like I'm gonna go to the place with the most hot euro models I can.
If he went NYK or Chicago with similarly equipped teams, I don't think people kill him for it as much.
