I have delivered for the last 5years in the winter time when i get layed off. At the place I work i get $2 for each delivery +tip. Avg tip is about $3. A good winter week in chicago work about 25-30hours and i make on avg about $400-500 under the table. Figure you spend about $50 in gas, clear $450 its not a bad gig.

I have to admit that I am embarrassed to write this.

I was working two jobs and one was commission based (yeah you guessed it) started selling nothing and making very little.

Took on a pizza delivery thing as a THIRD job.

It's just awful. I make almost nothing for an hourly wage ($3 an hour) plus tips (if people have any money at all) The delivery charge (I get a $1.25 per order) although I think they charge the customer $1.75

It's all under the the table of course. I worked three hours Friday night, eleven hours Saturday and ten hours on Sunday. $167 for 24 hours = $7 an hour. The place hardly does any business and in those 24 hours of work I had about 15 deliveries.

I wish I could just quit the job (normally I just Saturday and Sunday all day) but I don't were to make up the $140 I would lose even though I know it is sub minimum wage (and you use your gasoline on top of it all)
you should find a busier pizza place to deliver for.

I knew a guy who delivered pizza, his career was ended by a pipe to the head. I believe the pizza place covered the hospital bills.

yeah dude thats brutal. def need to find a new pizza place. pizza joints around here have 2-3 delivery boys working a night on the weekends and each take in about 100-150$ a night.

I used to deliver for Dominos 30 years ago-

if it was over 30 minutes it was free

id get there after 30 minutes
I’d offer it for free and they would insist on paying
I’d get to keep ALL the money.
