After pawning you watch, try these:

El Cortez - (Check Prices) 24 hours a day, a few bucks gets you two eggs, some meat product, toast, and hash browns. It's a breakfast fit for a king of a small imaginary kingdom whose subjects have mistreated him and he now must live on the streets of Las Vegas, waiting for the day when he can reclaim his crown. Also, during the day you can get an 8 oz, ribeye dinner for about $5.

Las Vegas Club Upper Deck - (Check Prices) Not only do they have a late night steak and eggs special for a few bucks, but they also have several other specials going on, all under $4.

This place actually is pretty good. Last year Mrs. vinividivinci and I ate there and got two prime rib dinners for $4.95. They have 2-for-1 on all their entrees from 4pm til 6pm every day and regular price for prime rib is only $4.95 for complete dinner. Nice size serving, too, maybe 12 to 14 ounces with salad, large baked potato and fresh vegetable. Full bar service is available, of course.

I also really enjoy Chicago Joe's, especially for lunch. Reasonable prices and great Italian food. It is just a few blocks from the Nuggett.

VVV

That's cheaper than McDonald's ! You can live at a flea-bag motel on lower Fremont ( if young and single) and never miss not having a kitchen, just a mini-fridge for beer !

I'll have to go with the El Cortez for the quality but the prices are better in jail.

I can tell you this much Doug,

The Sunday morning pancakes at the L.A. County Jail were as good as anything on the El Cortez menu. As for the rest of the week, the worst MRE is better than anything served at Men's Central. Oh what memories...

Nice endorsement for EC breakfast fare... " as good as Sunday breakfast, in LA's finest jails, better than an MRE ! "
I wasn't in army, but for the inevitable question... "What's an MRE ?"... stands for meal ready to eat, a modern K-ration.

Considering the BASH is in downtown, here are my recommendations that are a stone throws away.

Without question, HUGOS at the Four Queens would be #1.

Lilly Langtrees at the Nugget is very good.

The Tony Romas at the Fremont is very good for a chain.

Buffets:

Main Street Station--Golden Nugget--Fremont..........in that order.

Sit-down breakfast:

The Golden Nugget coffee shop---The Dugout at the LVClub

Fast food:

Fremont chinese

Fishhead, I'm a bit surprised you didn't mention late night (early AM) breakfast at the Golden Gate. The Ham Steak one is my fav!

I wonder if the Plaza still offers that "pound of pig" breakfast ?

It was an outragous amount of ham to consume before my first drink.

Went to The Steakhouse at Circus Circus recently, can't say i was impressed, VERY over priced and Morton's or Ruths Chris destroys their Ribeye...Not even close.

Definitely go to the Delmonico Steakhouse at the Venetian. If you like Buffets, go to the Paris or the Bellaggio. I haven't been to the Wynn yet, but I am guessing there are some great places to eat there. In fact, the head chef from an amazing restaurant in my hometown recently went over to the Wynn (can't remember the name of the restaurant unfortunately).

Main Street Station

friday night my friend suggested this saying he heard good things about it - and i recalled this - so we went.

NOT BAD!

a wide array of choices and all very good. they had pork ribs as well as a carving station of roast beef and turkey. they have foods for just about every ethnicity and the desserts are good, too

Cost about $17 a pop after taxes but i have no complaints about this and for those staying at the GN - it is about a 5-10 minute walk to this place and well worth it
