Never mind the GC/SC relationship....in mosts states...even if you pay the GC AND the GC pays the SC......even a material supplier who wasn't paid by the SC can lien yo ass.
I wouldn't worry about it too much though. Chances are...GC, SC, or material provider never filed Prelim. on your property and that is a good thing for you.
Your "trainer" should tell the SC to fcuk off.......if SC sues, your bro just countersues the GC for said amount and more and legal fees. All good.
But like I said....he needs to find out if anyone filed the proper preliminary info for the lien (varies by state)
