Completely forgotten? Not a chance. Her limited work was 1st class. She was one of my top 5 musicians I enjoyed listening to. She was a tremendous talent that got hooked on drugs and wasn't able to find her way since. Very sad and she'll me extreamly missed musically. I for one, loved all her stuff.

She had a tremendous set of pipes and a great unique voice. It's unfortunate that those pipes were used more for sucking down drugs than singing.

Maybe not by you, but the mainstream will wash her out in a few years. Happened to Heath Ledger just recently. She will not be remembered like the 27 Club.

But there's no denying the movement Nirvana started and the cult-god status that he obtained. Yes, Winehouse was talented. But she wasn't a game-changer.

Cobain and Nirvana's music still sounds fresh today ! back in the early 90's their music changed everything from the underground to the mainstream ! Nevermind is on everyones shortlist as best album of all time. Unfortunatly, Cobain is at the top of the 27 club IMO !

There's a large difference between being overweight and losing money by gambling compared to being a total junkie to the point of killing yourself. I'm sorry you haven't made that distinction.

High rates of suicide due to gambling...Broken families and family relations and marriages etc due to gambling. Yeah.. I guess I havent made the 'distinction' . Oh.. being overweight AND gambling, yeah youre right

Those would be the same type people who listen only to modern pop 'country' music.. or totally slickly produced light rock or Kenny G.. and not much else..

not disagreeing entirely, but the gambler's point of view is a slower, painful death (heart acceleration, increased stress levels). I think of it as natural drugs killing the body instead.

True, gambling does have its detractions and even some gamblers have their lives cut short due to stress. But not all do. Even if some do how much of their lives are cut short, 5 years? 10 years?

Amy Winehouse had her life cut short by 50 years because of her behavior. I would say the two are not even close.

Why gamble if you don't have the money to pay your debts? That is a lot different than being a junkie...IMO
