You must like 30 win teams instead of 55 win teams. Amare has his flaws but you guys are either rebuilding now or pretending you aren't rebuilding but really rebuilding...Kerr left at a good time

Yea. I prefer 30 wins over 55. Dont be dumb.

But no team with Amare STAT is gonna ever win a title. He's all about himself. He thinks he is God and has already arrived as the best player on the planet. Just ask him.

You Knicks fans will see. For every highlight dunk, you will see him flatfooted on defense. Giving up on rebounds and not playing help defense.

Good riddance.

agree to an extent but remember...he would be going back into D Antonis system where he had most of his success. Douglas has shown signs of being a great distributor of the ball and could really blossom. Also Amare has not shown any real negative effects from the surgery. I don't believe it is that horrible of a move as every one on here is making it out to be. That is if they get a player to compliment him with. Which Id imagine it is not in their plans to sign him and be done with the market.

Nothing better than not playing defense and getting embarrassed by any good defensive team in the playoffs. I'd gladly trade some exciting regular season wins for a philosophy that has an actual chance of winning it all.

as a Knicks fan I dont think they will ever sniff a championship, let alone the 2nd round of the playoffs with D Antoni as the coach just cause of those defensive reasons and I think thats the main thing keeping Lebron coming to NY.

Amare simply isn't a superstar. He can be dominant at times but is a somewhat one dimensional in that he is mainly a scorer. He also has a lot of miles for his age cause he started so young, plus some injury history. He is a star not a superstar. He should not get max money but he will since teams have all this cap room and are desperate and there are more teams with cap room then true superstars available.

Same story for Joe Johnson, hes a star not a superstar. Shouldn't but will get max money. Max money guys should only be Lebron, Wade and Bosh. Bosh mainly because he is big, healthy, young and has no baggage and puts up good numbers. Though I don't think of him as a superstar yet.

When teams sign these second level guys to max contracts it never works out great. At best they are somewhat satisfied and often times when it doesn't work they are stuck with a huge contract.

I'm not a Knicks fan, not sure if you thought I was.

I don't think Amare will win a title in NYK unless Bron/Wade goes there but to say he couldn't be the 2nd guy on a championship team is a bit of a stretch.

Suns are gonna struggle to be relevant for a few years now until they get something else going. Historically they've been a very good team at reloading but it'll take some years. Don't kid yourself about that

People also need to keep in mind, only 1 team wins.

Amar’e Update

By Tommy Dee on Jul 03, 2010, 7:24 pm
Clearly what we have, based on several conversations, is a relative agreement on both team’s parts. Without question, and this is me just speaking freely, there’s little doubt that Amar’e would leave the Suns without a guarantee that another player will be joining him.
So ignore all this “desperate” move stuff please.
It appears that Amar’e and the team are getting very close to finalizing a deal, and that Monday, as we told you the other day, would be the closing date.
Again, there is no forcing these deals, but from all accounts, Amar’e is “comfortable with NY” and the situation and should be a Knick next week unless something drastically changes.

amare was arguably the best player in the 2nd half of the season. still pretty young, great size, can run the floor, thrived under d'antoni.

ive read reports that they might get tony parker. if they got tony parker and somehow got joe johnson over there things would get interesting quick.

not interested in Joe Johnson anymore. reports are Parker and than they are going after Mike Miller instead to save money n still try to land Lebron.

"I've talked to Carmelo Anthony that he needs to come out here," Stoudemire said. "I've talked to Tony Parker. Both guys are ready to join me if I decide to come here. So we will see if we can work it out."

quote from Amare. I'm assuming he means next year when Carmelo is a FA?
