sorry judge - i had the bills -3 in that oilers' game and consider that the luckiest push of all time.
my worst was about 5-7 years ago. i had a 6-team parlay - 3 NHL games and 3 college bowl games.
i put up $40 to win about $1,700.
the NHL games were all laughers - they won so easy it was embarrassing.
first bowl game was army +7 over auburn. army is getting KILLED 32-7 going into 4Q. somehow army scores the next 22 points to pull within 3 - lines up for a fg to tie with a few seconds left. i am praying for them to miss it cuz if the game goes to OT, auburn could score a td first, stop army and win by 7 - giving me a push. the army kicker shanked about a 30-yard fg for me to win.
second bowl game, va, tech +16.5 over nebraska in the orange bowl. i recall coming thiiiiiiiiiis close to taking tech +10 in the first half instead of tech +16.5 in the game. tech trailed by 10 late in 2Q when jim druckenmiller threaded one to a receiver to be down 3 @ 1/2 and making me upset i never made the bet. 2nd 1/2 nebraska pulls away somewhat. they are up 34-21 with about 3-minutes left. they have 3rd and 12 at the tech, say, 20. i figure i am looking good. if tech holds them nebraska will kick a fg to go up by 2 full 8-point tds, 37-21 - and i will win by the hook. except scott frost has other ideas. he takes the option play, never hands it off and run for the td. i've never said the word "f***" so many times in my life - but i also realize tech can get the back door td to gimme my cover again and it appears they will do just that. they run some sort of a gadget play and next thing i know tech appears to be running back the kick for a td. but, they get stopped around the 20. no biggie - i need 20 yards and i figure nebraska will give them the score. tech gets a 1st down and now has the ball inside the huskers 10. on 2nd down, tech runs a draw. it works great for there isn't a husker defensive player within 10 miles of ken oxendine and the goal line. however, there is a tech lineman lying on the ground and somehow this motherf****r TRIPS over his own lineman and falls short of the end zone (i take back what i said above - HERE i uttered the word "f***" more than i ever have in the past). that's right - all this a**hole had to do was step over his fallen lineman and he scores, making it 41-27 and i get the cover. the next 2 plays druckenmiller throws incomplete passes and i don't get the cover. the game cost me $2,200 - $1,700 on the parlay and $500 in a bowl pool - i took 3rd for $100 when i woulda won the $600 1st place had tech covered. ever since that day i have hated scott frost and ken oxendine. i reallllllly hated druckenmiller - especially when i found out he was dating julie lynn cialini for 3 years. for those of you who don't know who JLC is - do a yahoo search on her. she is an almost 6-foot playboy playmate of the year who i have met in person and she is even better looking in person. i was happy when she dumped him figuring he had it coming. i was also happy when druckenmiller got in trouble for allegedly raping a va. tech student when he came back a few years later.
oh, yeah, as for the other bowl game, i had byu +3.5 over kansas state - and byu won by 4.
so those a**holes at va. tech cost me $2,200 and i hate them - and i hated them even more 2 years ago when the lost (and failed to cover) against FSU for if they had covered there i woulda won $100 for finishing 3rd in that same bowl pool.
needless to say i will never be an invited guest at VT.
