For me it's worth buying him lunch and a beer at a local bar. If he's a turd and I would rather not break bread with him I would flip him a $20

Well think of it this way
You go to dinner and tip your waitress so i believe you should tip the guy who runs the pool
he did all the work and gave you the money

I think that 10% is a good deal for everyone

thoughts?

only a stiff would keep everything

Run your own damn pools if you dont want to pay off the top. The responses in here about getting people credited and entries paid and collected being hard is 100% spot on. It may not seem like too much work, but if you are the guy on a regular basis doing the work you should at the very least get free entry into the contest.

I have run tons in the last couple years, both online, and then ones with anywhere from 50-5 people.

-you have to grade it
-make sure people are doing it right
-collect entries and entry fees from a variety of sources esspecially these days with people using everything from cash/check to paypal peer to peer.
-needless to say this is the time of the year where you just want to watch the games after a while.
-and they cant just stop the contest when they are not doing well or not winning, they have to continue to grade it and keep people updated.

The guy deserves at the very least a thankyou and a free entry.

Actually, after having recently seen a college bowl pool spreadsheet with nearly 1000 entries, I'll change my response to "IT DEPENDS".

Holy F did that have to be a bitch to run. Cripes!!!!
