We have troops in Afghanistan killing for the vast oil preserves Afghanistan has to offer? It has lots of untapped mineral resources but not oil as far as I know. Do you know of some oil preserves most of us don't know about in Afghanistan?

Just cause you dont know doesnt mean youre right. The caspian sea has huge untapped oil reserves that would rival the middle east reserves, afghanistan has long been tapped as thee great location to build pipelines. Oil companies have wanted stability in that region for a long time and had hoped the taliban would bring it as the oil companies have plenty invested there but as we know that didnt work out. Make no mistake oil may not be the only reason the troops are there but its definitely on the agenda. You dont waste the money the US has there to walk away empty handed.
of course there tons of natural gas reserves in the caspian sea and russia is still pissed over the stans being taken away
