Sorry Indy. Poor night.

YTD 43-28

Rhode Island -2

The Rams have the home court tonight in this in state rivalry. I look for them to take advantage of a Providence squad that is not performing up to expectations. The Friars have lost 4 games in which they were favored by at least 9.5 points. Not sure I have seen that so early in a season.

Loisville -14

Pitt has been one of the more surprising teams of the season with several power 5 wins, but this is a tall ask. On the road with a young lineup against a Louisville team that is excelling on both ends of the floor. The conference opener as the nation’s #1 team does not seem to be a likely flat spot for the Cardinals.

SF Austin +10.5

Seems too easy right. If you can win at Cameron, you should be able to hang within 10 at Coleman Coliseum. Forget the Duke win, this is about fading Bama aa they continue to find their way in their new system. I expected a 4-5 spread here so I will take the bait.

Louisville -6.5 (first) -115

The line drop has made this too attractive to pass up.

Huge move on Providence like the game has already been played.

Varkey, glad they worked out for us as things got a little tight down the stretch in both games. Big slate tomorrow and I am still working, but let’s start with these.

YTD 47-28

Lafayette -2

Lafayette currently sit atop the Ivy League standings with a 3-0 record. Not really, but the Leopards have already carved up the upper tier of the Ivy with wins over Penn, Princeton and Columbia. Now they get projected Ivy bottom feeder, Cornell. The Leopards have road wins at Princeton and St. Joseph’s so winning in Ithaca should not be a stretch.

Utah -16.5

No rest for the weary as Central Arkansas moves on from Thursday’s drubbing at Wichita to face the Utes. Not a good spot for the Bears as the basketball Utes stayed in after Oregon drubbed the football Utes.

Rice - pick

Disclaimer: Lamar has traditionally taken it to Rice in Beaumont.
One key here is the health of Rice guard Trey Murphy. Murphy is the Owls’ leading scorer and did not play in the Bahamas Showcase due to an ankle sprain. He is not listed on an injury report and a Rice twitter feed photo shows him participating in a Friday shootarounnd at Lamar. (According to my eyes, he is standing on the LU logo on the right side of the court, but I could be wrong if you want to check for yourself.) Rice’s 3 losses have been to top 100 teams. Lamar is not a top 200 team so I think the Owls do enough to get the win.

Used to live in Homewood and my now ex-wife made me sell my house there when we got married. Still pissed about it. Good luck today.

Indy, I wouldn’t fault anybody for fading me. Just having a good run. Let’s have a good day.
