Aikman is probably in but might have to wait another year.
Carson should already be in, how he isn't is utter lunacy.
Greenwood should DEFINITELY be in, had better numbers and might have been a better player than Greene but gets no love.
Grimm probably won't get in, but deserves a look.
Humphrey has no chance
Irvin would've gotten in this year if not for the pipe incident, now it's up in the air.
Keuchenberg will just fall short again, he's so borderline you can't argue for or against induction.
Madden might get in now that he's in the hands of the Veterans Committee.
Monk sadly will be left out again. The problem we're going to have with WR's is that no one knows what to do with theirs stats anymore due to the changing of the game. Monk, Ellard, Fryar all quality WR's that are in no man's land right now.
Moon is very interesting, I'd love to hear some of the debates about him and if he'll be punished for those 4 CFL years.
D Thomas should be in, in the mid-90's he was probably the most feared LB in the game, amazing how no one talks about the tragedy of his life cut so short
T Thomas should not get in, total product of the system.
White is definitely in
Wright is in the Veterans Committee's hands now too, I'd bet that he goes in this year.
Zimmerman probably won't get in and doubt he ever will

This is Carson's 7th try, Greenwood's 6th, Monk's 6th, and Keuchenerg's 5th. Precedent says that these guys will eventually get in, it took Stallworth 8 tries, Carl Eller 13 tries, and Lynn Swann 14 tries but they all eventually got in.

aikman will definitely make it, he is a first ballot hall of famer, he is a top ten qb of all time and he could have ended with even better stats had it not been for all the concussions he suffered

i too am curious about moon, he has great nfl statistics but could have been even better had he played those four years in the nfl, herschel walker has about as good of numbers as a rb could have without getting in, in my opinion, if he hadnt gone to the usfl, where he dominated for four years, he could have been a hall of famer,

this is kind of a general question about the walker/moon situation, is it called "the nfl hall of fame" or "the pro football hall of fame" to me this should make a big difference to the writers for players like moon and walker

its called the pro football hall of fame, and guys from the AAFC have gotten in (Motley) so it's just going to be very interesting. and if you argue for moon and use his cfl stats in 5 years does flutie get in too?

i personally believe that moon should get in with his nfl stats alone, he has some great stats and was on a winning team for a long time, they were never able to go to the sb, but the bills (best team to never win a sb) kept him from getting his shot to play there, if you include his cfl stats, i think he has to get in, i have not looked at fluties stats, so i cant really comment on there

if you look at herschels stats combined from the usfl and the nfl, it is pretty ridiculous how good he is, i think had he gone straight to the nfl, he would already be in the hall of fame, dont forget, in his three years in college football, he was 3rd, then 2nd, then won the heisman trophy, thats pretty dominant, and he was in arguably the toughest college football conference at the time, the SEC

NFL Stats: 8225 yds rushing, 61 tds, 4.2 yds a carry
4859 yds receiving, 21 tds, 9.5 yds a catch
5084 yds kick returning, 2 tds

USFL Stats:5562 yds rushing, 54 tds

i think these stats are pretty sick personally, and also dont forget he was traded by the cowboys for seven picks which is unheard of, that trade built the cowboys for their run of three super bowl wins and one of the best teams in history

I would love to see both L.C. Greenwood and Harry Carson get in (especially Greenwood) but with this being Carson's 7th and Greenwood's 6th time in the final 15 it doesn't look promising.

Interesting note on final 15 HOF candidates (they started in 1970.) The most appearances in the final 15 was by Lynn Swann who got elected to the HOF in 2001 on his 14th. try as final 15 member.

Hines Ward:
What are you smoking lately? First, you insinuate that the Steelers should lose this week instead of playing NE in AFC championship and than you make the comment that LC is better than Joe Greene? Greene was hands down the best player on the best defense ever assembled. By taking constant double teams and being the focus of offenses for over 10 years he was THE cornerstone of Steel Curtain. I hope LC makes it but no way he is in same class as Mean Joe. You are going to have your Terriblle Towel confiscated under a little known codicile of the Steeler Constitution covering such violations.

Joe Greene was one of the top 5 alltime defensive players...L.C. Greenwood should have been in long ago though.

Art Monk should have been in too, the NFL HOF is hard to figure.

Ray Guy

First thing I did when I saw the thread was check for his name!

Amazing, as he should have been in before this! One draft pick, and no more punter worries for over a decade. What a joke!

Art Monk is my favorite player ever. He is completley deserving of the HOF. Hell of a player during the 80s-90s, hell of a person. Mr. Consistent, a taller version of today's Marvin Harrison sans a phenomenal QB on his team.

For the love of god, get Art Monk in the HOF already...great player, vastly underrated. He was just a low-key guy who went out and got the job done every single week. He deserves to get in.

As for Ray Guy, it's ridiculous that the voters refuse to put him in. Ignorance. He changed the game.

Art Monk definately deserves being inducted. Michael Irvin does not. irvin was part of a system. He did nothing that was spectacular. He was an average player at best. Art Monk was a great receiver and an absolute gentleman. He was a class player. Too bad I believe that they will vote for class-less over class.

I dont know if Warren Moon is gonna make it in, he was part of the system as well when Pardee was coaching. I always liked him and thought he threw a terrific spiral. He should be a definite in the CFL HOF.

Wasn't it Carson who was pissed off that he wasn't voted in last time and wanted his name taken off the list for consideration?
