If the 70 yard Fitzgerald play was a big play, what was the 14 point play with the blocks in the back?Pitt made every single big play that needed to be made, won time of possession, made less mistakes, turned it over less, and had fewer penalties. Outside of a couple of big plays, like the 70 yard Fitzgerald TD, the yardage gained was pretty even as well. Pretty simple formula.
Never said or implied that it was fixed. I just found it funny that Fitzgerald's play was a "big" play, and so it doesn't really count. And the 14 point play was not mentioned. Not gonna get into the cliched 'fixed' discussion, but I will say that your point is moot as that yardage doesn't show up on the stat sheet.

Yes Pitt made some big plays on the 1st and last drives. The fact they won TOP is partially due to the penalties that cancelled Cardinal gains and put them in 2nd or 3rd and 20 situations. Both teams had 1 turnover so that was a wash, although Pitt was allowed to score on the Ariz INT instead of having the illegal block called so it would have been 10-7 at halftime and the whole 2nd half would have been different.
