Betfair: Not just for sports trading

Hey Messy7:

Betfair is not just for sports trading at all. In fact you can do everything you do at a bookie plus way more!

here's what you need to know:

1. The only difference is you get paid from another user (Betfair holds the money until the winner is decided then pays the winner. Betfair takes between 2-5% commission from the winner)

2. So you can place a normal bet (Back Betting)

3. You can bet against something happening (Lay betting)
For example, bet against the Vikings to win the Super Bowl.

4. You can set your own odds and wait to be matched OR simply accept the odds on the board.

5. Every bet is in play. Since people continue betting throughout the game, this creates a market where SOME Betfair users trade their opening positions to guarantee a profit.
