I brought this up on here before, but now that the Pats have won another SB, it has come up again.

A friend of mine and I have been arguing about these Pats vs the Cowboys of the 90's. He is a Pats fan and I am a Cowboys fan so maybe we are being biased but we each say our team would beat the others team.

I think the Cowboys would "easily" beat the Pats. He says the ONLY area the Cowboys were better in was the O line.

Please give me your thoughts on this either way...thanx.

Being a big dallas fan back in those days, my opinion is that the athletes today are bigger, stronger, and faster overall and learned many tricks which they have made better from those old schoolers. I would vote NE is better.

Cowboys would destroy the Pats. 34-17

Hell they won a bunch of their titles in blowouts, im sure they can blow out a team that only wins by 3 points.

No way in hell Cowboys would "easily" beat the pats.

Too close to call but I give the edge to the Pats, much better on defence and Brady gets the nod over Aikman in my book.

I would even argue that the Denver teams that went back to back in 97/98 may have been better than those Dallas teams from 92/93.:smoker2:

They blew out Buffalo twice and needed a choking Neil O donnell to hand them their 3rd.:icon_conf

If Dallas has the advantage on OL, wouldn't it make sense that they would have the RB advantage too. They did have Emmitt Smith getting 20 tds a year. Much better than Dillon/Faulk.

RB even? The best ever against Corey Dillon. WR even? no way, Michael Irvin, Alvin Harper, I will take any day. Don't forget about Novacek. Brady has several more years before he can be compared to Aikman.

I'm not ready suck Brady off like everybody else is. He is a winning qb in a great system. I'm not ready for the best ever talk just yet either.

I'll take the Cowboys to win 8 out of 10

it has been brought up again today....except now he wants to argue Brady vs Aikman...I say they are about the same...he says it is a joke to say Aikman is even close to as good as Brady.....

Dallas easily; they were superior on the O and D lines and that's where games are won.

Todays players bigger, stronger, faster, so i guess NE would handle that Dallas team way back then. Dont forget the Pittsburgh Steelers of those days with Bradshaw that team might beat either of these mentioned, and did beat one of em !

Insiders we're talking about 25-30 years now, if you're talking Bradshaw's Steelers...those Dallas teams of the early mid 90s would atleast have the size to go head to head unlike Pittsburgh...

The Steelers dynasty will probably never be matched, however what New England has done is just as impressive for different reasons....the Steelers would have had so much trouble keeping all those players together in this day and age...there are so many variables that make the arguement impossible.

the Cowboys physically would probably be almost as equal , even though its been 10 years or so now.

I would say the Dallas teams had better skill position players , except for Brady...Dallas also had a better O-line...

New England is a unique team, but they have not dominated the way Dallas did and certainly not the way the 70's Steelers did!

Dallas would win 9 times out of 10 simply because in those days the talent went deeper, rotating D-line, situational LBs, good nickel & dimes and thats not mentioning a superior TE and The Moose.
