Your preferred playoff field

What would be your ideal four team playoff based on the teams that have a realistic chance?

For me I would really like to see Ohio St vs Baylor and Alabama vs Michigan St with Ohio St and Alabama advancing. I really wouldn't care which one won it all. It would be nice seeing two from the Big Ten (homer coming through) make it.

Until the field expands to eight teams (way down the road, unless SEC gets shut out and cries to ESPN, etc.) I just want to see the best four teams in it.

TCU was by far a better choice over FSU last year, so I'd like to see them represented. Michigan State has been so close to a top four team of late and that would be nice to see. They look like an outsider however with Ohio State so loaded. At least one SEC school will get in, and I would not be surprised if Auburn was really good in '15. I like Baylor's creative offense, but dislike their creative scheduling. I would rather see other teams in the mix.

I predict:

Semis: Vandy vs Iowa State

Semis: Oregon State vs Purdue

Winner: Every wife in America

I want to see teams that earn their way into the playoffs. Obviously an undefeated team, no matter how soft their schedule is (Paying attention Baylor and TCU) is going to get in. All of that changes when we get into the one and two loss scenario's. Look at this possibility:
To the surprise of no one, Ohio State wins the Big 10. Michigan State's only loss is to Ohio State. Both Baylor and TCU lose just one game with TCU winning the CC based on some stupid rule instead of a win in a CC game. In the mean time, both the SEC Champ and the Pac 12 Champ have two losses due to the brutal conferences they play in. Now do we really want to see two Big 10 teams play against 2 Big 12-2 teams? I sure as hell don't but it could come down to that. Now for those of you who say that it would never happen, may I direct you to last season, when the committee based their votes on CC game winners and overall records.

I wouldn't pencil the Big 12 in just yet. TCU has quite a few mind fields to go through to get out of the conference with one loss or less. Both TCU and Baylor are on the hard year of their schedules. They had it much easier last year. Same with OU. If they were going to make a run, it should have been last year.

I am a firm believer in the four most deserving NOT the four best need to make it. It has to be DESERVING otherwise the whole system collapses. Obviously FSU wasn't even a true top ten quality team but being a major undefeated they had to get in. I am glad the committee wasn't lazy and automatically stuck them at #1. There is a chance three of the four BEST teams are in the SEC but in any reasonable scenario they would be lucky to put two in.
