72 datsun 510 - looked a lot like this.

These are freaking awesome!!! I'd like to have one to modify today. Lil things will fly and handle like a dream with a little hopups and me driving.

Had a 72 240z and a 76 280z myself. Best inline 6 ever made. well the 3JZ from Toyota is practically bulletproof too.

That would have still be a shitty car back in 2000... but mine was even worse... For instance, Mileage and Speedometer didn't work... so I never knew how fast I was going....

The cloth on the ceiling was held up by tape...

Oh, man, the passanger side door, the handle was broke, like plastic smashed.. there was a little trick to opening it... hahaha not sure how I ever got laid in HS with this car...

The back bumper was slightly bent...
the muffler was literally attached to a bungee cord....

I bought a new battery... and then told me mom to sell it as I was working and bought a different car... note on refridge one day saying sold your car, money on the table... it was $40.... :ohno:

A couple years later, sure enough that little car was still running around my town. It was 140k when the mileage stopped working... lasted at least 4 more years.

Sounds like my CRX. My dad wouldn't let me take it to College because he said it wouldn't make it. He sold it to a guy at work, who drovve it numerous times on a 1200 mile round trip to Ohio, and then the guy handed it down to his teenage son like 4 years later, and they never spent a dime on it except for oil change, brakes, etc. I figured it out that my Dad just wanted the money when he didn't give me a dime when he sold it. Dickhead!

My first car was a 1978 Ford Pinto that I bought off my friend's dad.I had to get a muffler for it a couple of months after I bought it and they mechanic tells me that this Pinto was one that had the exploding gas tank in it and if it was hit from behind you was not going to like what happens but didnt scare me I kept for 2 years and sold it.

ya it was a great car for a cheap piece of shit that it looked on the outside. Had a roll bar inside and had it lowered with super shocks. It was friggen fun to drive. My buddy had a 280Z at the same time. Those were the days.

I got that beat, my gas gauge didn't work. Ran out more than once.

On the plus side neither did the odometer, so I have no clue how many miles were finally on this car when I sold it. My older brother had it through high school and sold it to me for $750. I drove it another 20k miles at least and then sold it for $1000.

Had to have had at least 300k miles on it when I sold it in 1999.

My first car was a 1956 Plymouth Savoy that my father paid our neighbor $200. But my big surprise was when he bought me a Olds Starfire 1962. That was some car. 394 ci with 350 hp. Had stainless steel "stripes" down the side. I loved that car!
