i think russell would be a great fit in oakland though, especially with randy moss

No chance in hell Moss is with the Raiders next season.

The thing that makes him such a great NFL prospect is the quick release on those bombs he throws. He will make an impact.

Throwing into double and triple coverage. A good defense would eat him up. He'll be like Vick.

He can throw a ball 85 yards...that is the most incredible thing I have ever heard.

I started a thread last year about his arm strength and said it was the strongest arm I had ever seen...I didn't know it was THAT strong.

85 yards? Did they say that???

He doesn't make the best decisions out there far too often, no way he goes #1.

No way does he go before Brady or Smith. Its not all about arm strength. Speaking of LSU qbs, it's too bad that Rohan Davey never go a legit shot. Another with cannon arm and I think he had better smarts than Williams

actually this should not have been big news for sec followers.

Russell attended a Manning camp some time last year. And peyton manning was among those say that Russell just blew them away with this throwing skills.

And it wasnt that typical hype crap they give out about people that go to their camps. They were gushing all over him.

I have seen play a few games this year. I was not thrilled with the play calling or some of his pass selections but damn...the guy has a fire lightening release that makes those across the field passes that other qbs cant even complete look like killer zingers

"Buckethead" Bradshaw said he can throw it 60 yards from his knee. If thats True it is amazing. Most people cant throw a baseball 60 yards from a knee let alone a football.
were pretty crazy stories about how strong Theisman's arm was in college...doesn't mean anything. Boller's arm was insane

Yes...they said they witnessed it. That is remarkable.

Not only that, but they said he threw 65 yards from a knee and 50 yards sitting on his ass. That is mind boggling.

Slow release, horrible decision maker. Not even best Black qb in ncaa, that is Josh Johnson at Sandiego University, learned for 2 years from Jim Harabugh.

best arm ever was Sandiego states Dan Mcgwire, he could throw it 90, saw him do it, throw 60 without the ball getting higher than 15 feet off the air. Football was his 3rd best sport, but was his favorite. Should have been a mlb pitcher.

Michael Bishop still had the best arm I've ever seen.........and look how it worked out for him. Testaverde and Davey had cannons too and they sucked in the pros.

If I remember right at K State, Bishop stood on his own 30 and threw the ball through the goal posts without taking a step forward. Also remember him standing in the back of an AFL end zone and throwing the ball into the 15th row on the other side of the field.

Rail JaMarcus will definately go before Troy Smith. If Brian Brohm declares Smith will be the 4th QB off the board.

probably a jeff george type player that is a little more heavy set...well, actually, a lot more heavy set. who knows if he will be able to stay off the cheeseburgers. throw and release kind of reminds me of a poor mans randall cunningham. he will get his shot though, so we'll see.

put me in the category of those who think that Quinn will be underwhleming in the NFL. Will never be as good as Vince Young, Matt Leinart, or Jay Cutler

I've been in that club for the past two seasons now.
Whoever selects Quinn in the first round is going to be disappointed.
