Check out this quote,

"Those cholos had it coming. It's the process of selection - nature weeding out the stupid and the weak. I checked the kid's myspace website and I'm willing to bet they were high. His last post from Christmas day said his mood was "high".

Sure, those guys were probably acting like idiots. But the wall is suppose to be high enough so that any idiots who go to the zoo, and any non-idiots who happen to be near the idiots, don't get killed.

If an innocent bystander was hurt I would feel bad. I don't feel bad for these three though.

Hmm, could be. The zoo is in S.F., Bonds lives in S.F. Yes, it all makes sense now!

I think the tiger just climbed or jumped the wall. I read today that the moat was dry and the fence was only about 12-13 feet high.

A tiger can leap as high as 16 feet and as far as 33 feet. It would be easy for the tiger to jump over a 13 foot wall.

I'm not so sure about a big cat leaping 16' high.

In the wild, tigers can leap as high as 5 m (16 ft) and as far as 9–10 m (30–33 ft), making them one of the highest-jumping mammals (just slightly behind cougars in jumping ability).

Of course you're right, Buffalo, but it's hard not to agree with Texasfan also...

...especially since we are about to make these idiots, and their surviving family, rich!

Where's the proof they taunted????????????

They interviewed the other tigers and animals who saw it happen.

Found this

Police searched the zoo to ensure there were no others injured and no more animals out of their cages after the Christmas day attack in which the 300-pound tiger, Tatiana, escaped its cage.

One witness said at least one of the victims had provoked the tiger, which had been out of its cage an estimated 15 to 20 minutes, police said. Tatiana also ripped the flesh off a zookeeper's arm just before Christmas 2006.

they deserved it.

If it is true that they provoked her and threw things at her (I'm waiting for confirmation on this) then I don't disagree at all. I feel badly they had to shoot her and didn't use a tranq gun.

S. F. tiger used jumping ability to escape

Officials have now confirmed that the tiger, which escaped from its moated area earlier this week in the San Francisco Zoo, jumped its way out. "Tigers have great leaping ability and I think many people don't realize that or often forget it," said Jim Leroy, tiger jumping and footing expert of the Bay Area. After escaping the giant cat went on a rampage killing one zoo visitor and critically injuring two others.
One zoo official expressed surprise,"Now we know that tigers can jump. Before this incident we only thought they could and now we know they can." Some believe for years that the cat had been very deceptive in its jumping skills to make the zookeepers let their guards down. This particular tiger failed several jumping tests that were administered throughout the year. "The tiger couldn't even jump a car," said zookeeper Darryl Ventin.

SF Zoo Tiger Attack "Victim" Goes to Prison

You'll recall the tiger attack that occurred last Christmas at the San Francisco Zoo. In it, Paul Dhaliwal and his older brother Kulbir, along with their friend Carlos Sousa Jr., were attacked by a tiger who escaped from her enclosure.

Sousa was fatally mauled.

Since then, there have been allegations that the brothers and Sousa taunted the tiger before the attack, although it was also revealed that the zoo's fence was lower than the recommended height.

Of course, please note the word "recommended." Even if it was too low, there isn't a legal requirement for height, just a recommendation. This, plus the alleged taunting, as well as the legal problems of both Paul Kulbir, are why the word victim appears in quotes.

Despite this, of course, the brothers have sued.

Well, if Paul is going to enjoy his money (assuming they win or settle), it will be in prison.

He has been sentenced to 16 months in prison for violating probation in a felony reckless driving case.

He was arrested in March for shoplifting.
