Stop betting just for action. Have a reason to like the play. If you have money to throw away, then by all means continue.

Good advice, General. It's easy to kid yourself into seeing a reason to play.

I see it everyday. I have been there as well. The feeling that I have now watching games with no money on the line is awesome. I enjoy the game for the game.

i think the hardest day to do this is on monday night, because most people watch monday night football and feel compelled to place a bet on something.

I went 2 weks without any bets up until last week. I wasn't trying to quit, wasn;t on a bad streak or anything. Just didn't see anything worth betting on. Then when I did see a worthy underdog he got robbed

Regardless, I agree, don;t bet just to bet.

Monday night football is a goldmine for the books. Lots of suckers in the world of sportsbetting.

Kinda funny you know. I had the problem with internet access all week and after a bad NCAA season so far (-10 units) I just decided to close up shop for it until next season and stick to other sports. Yesterday was almost LIBERATING! Not to mention during the week I had all this free time I would have spent on the games

Yesterday I didn't watch a game, didn't follow a score, did everything outside the house including playing some blackjack and winning (talk about a bad beat for the casino). Read the stories about the key games last night at 11pm on the net, but otherwise it was quite nice, you should all try it sometime. Man there are a lot of dead hours us gamblers blow

If you are winning a wager at the half and have the nice looking edge, do not add to at half. Be content with the original game bet that looks good. Take the high percentage pending wager and be happy.

Agree with this 100%. For example if I had a good underdog (I prefer moneylines), and they were winning at the half why bet the other half??

When you bet the 2nd half you are taking a 50/50 chance where as you have a better than 50% chance with your original bet. People get greedy often times and give back more than they should. The human mind gives the books a huge advantage because a lot of people just either ....

A. Aren't that smart

B. Are to greedy

I make too many bets especially in the NBA (had 12 bets Friday night when their were 7 board games) which I don't think is smart.

The bad thing is your action bets end up eating into your real bets bankroll. I always feel like I end up betting more on bets I like than I should, but I need to so I can make up for the action bet losers.

So after much thought I am going to set up a separate bankroll, post up a nickel somewhere for action bets and some parlays.

Though I ought to just quit betting games I like, I feel that if you have action you pay more attention to the game or the card in general which pays off in other plays.

The hard part is avoiding greed, and keeping patience. I will pass on 5 or 6 games I like and go 6-0, that is very frustrating. It is kind of like farming, you have to pick seasons to pick starwberrys, like pre new yr college hoop and March madness, first 2 weeks of pro sports, Little Lauge baseball and any female sports, like WUSA,WTA,LPGA,WNBA and girls college march madness.

To many wagers per day is a big NO NO Buzz. Thanks for the input.
