That's not a scalp, it's a middle.

And it completely depends which sport it is to have middling value.

sorry I ment midddle still early out here on the left coast it is college football and the home team is getting +4 I could take the home team +3 ev if I wanted to also

depends on the game. ie - if there is a low total it's ok, otherwise I would pass.

no that is the only drawback the total is 58 but I knew a very sharp player in vegas who loved this play take a home team +3 and then play the other on the money line because of value on playing a small road fav on the money line a out I have has the dog +3 even but I can buy up to +4 for -120

No value at either. You're giving up about 3.6% at +3 and about 2.5% at +4. The total in college would need to be about 41 for it to be breakeven. In the NFL, it would fare better: about 46 would be breakeven.

yes I know the total is a killer,thanks for the stats just thought I would get some input I would prefer to be in nfl oh well I'm sure I'll find something to play today

that is if I want to buy to +4 I cant get dog at +3ev and fav at -45 but I know what you mean thanks for input though
