Let me tell you some details of this trip I took to cash in some of the futures that Redeye and myself had won. This was over 15 years ago before there was anyplace to wager online. We used to cover every sportsbook in town to find the best futures as We both lived in Oregon at the time. Well I went to cash all these winning wagers { Lots of overs and unders etc ** and I had more than $ 25,000 all in cash and my last stop for the evening was at the El Cortez. Well I parked my car in the dark garage and started walking towards the Casino entrance. Coming my way was some very seamy looking characters and I thought to myself... Why would anyone want to rob a bank or liquor store when all they have to do is whack me off in this dark lonely garage and nobody would ever know what happened. Needless to say I made it without an incident but I will always think twice before being in this part of town at 2:30 am in the morning. How I ever made it to my age I will never know ! Oh Yes, perhaps I do have a clue... Only the good die young !
