Lets say you have 4 buddies that want to " invest " in you . You take their 20 grand and spread it around a few books.

They have no say at all on how the money is played.

You make all the plays and take a cut of the hopeful profits .

Do you take your buddies up on their offer ?

They are nuts. I put my faith in myself, never in someone else....Plus, its a no win for you. If you do well, you were supposed to. If you suck, they are unhappy....Never

I agree JM. I would be more nervous betting someone else's money than my own. Ulcers anyone???

If you are a successful gambler you probably don't need the % you would pick up. ( unless -- you may need them as beards, which requires a certain interest level on their part )
If you are not a successful gambler you probably could use the friends.

What's in it for you really, in the long run ?

Based on my experiences, I don't !

If they were friends and were really interested in sports wagering and the benefits I would probably, if they really had an interest, teach them how to win.

Had this happen to me way back then. Took the money to LV, won the first 3 weeks, sent them back thier start up money. Played all football season until the playoffs, could not snag a winner, lost ALL of the + over 2 week period. They said that was alrighty and still friends to this day. They used to just love for the phone to ring an me saying you have this and this and that. They play on thier own nowdays.

I did this for a friend once, sent them 3K a month for three months in a row as that was our agreement...we split everything up to 6 K and then I took all the profits over that. he got upset over the fact that I was making more than him.

not worth it..people are greedy...they will either be pissed you didn't win enough or you will lose their money.

I wouldnt do it.......nothing good happens when co-mingling money, friends, and/or family.

If you win, they will feel cheated you took a penny of the profit.

If you lose, they will be bitter and you will have guilt.

Will probably cause confusion with your handicapping as people play differently when using others' money.

Not sure if your friends are gamblers, but if they are not, I would not even discuss gambling with them.

Learned a long time ago some people are fit for gambling and others are not. Those that are not, have no business at all involved or knowing any information about others' gambling.

Hope this helps......best of luck.

Take it and run

Take it and go to costa rica for the rest of your life because you are in a no win place here. If you win they will be happy and ask you to keep doing it until you lose. And if you lose well we all know they are going to hate you. So just steal the money and go have a happy life. No really help them set up their own accounts and give them the plays. If they win I am sure they will buy you a steak dinner and if they lose then oh well you probally lost also and no hard feelings.

i was just throwing it out there .. no where did i say i have 4 friends willing to do this.

i have never thought of sports betting as a team sport.

having said all that , i did have a buddy about 4 years ago who was looking for 10 to 20 % return on a $ 3000.00 investment over the course of a year .

something similar to what he would hope to return if he invested in a mutaul fund.

about 8 months later i handed him $ 3800.00 .

he was pleased and wanted to do it again .

i passed..

I would be very upfront about the realistic risk/reward ratio and disclose all of my records through the years and if they still wanted to do it, I would go through with it.

:lolBIG:

what i mean
there was an incident here at the rx about a poster named sickgambler

a very famous incident how he opened up 5 or 6 accounts at rio sports
with different names taking all of the bonuses .

he said his friends gave him money to post up with and they would split the profits

riosports closed all of the accounts i believe there was a 20+ grand balance

there was a ruling here at the rx with the judge and jury

classic

if anyone has the link for it ???

Shit....don't think for a second that it was just Rio that Slick Scambler was working over.

For that matter, don't think that it was just 5 or 6 accounts per book.
