Guys play their asses off on a regular basis, which is the exact key to being a winning regular season basketball team.

Maybe not, but everyone being on their nuts right now doesn't change what's, at best, the 5th team out West.

Royalfan didn't say they were going anywhere in the playoffs. He just mentioned a big part of the reason they do so well. A lot of teams more talented than Houston forget to show up sometimes.

Rockets playing great but circle next Wednesday March 19th.

That is when Houston visits the New Orleans Hornets. The Hornets crushed the defending NBA Champs Spurs last night 100-75 in New Orleans as Chris Paul had 26 points and 17 assists in the route of the Spurs who lost their 12th game out of thir last 19 against a team with a winning record. The loss landed the Spurs (44-20) into a tie with Houston (44-20) atop the Southwest Division a half game ahead of the Hornets and a game behind the Lakers (45-19) atop the Western Conference standings

Also watch tomorrow night if you can when The Lakers take on the Hornets in New Orleans..

The Rockets winning streak faces five serious challanges next week, none more difficult than the trip to New Orleans.

The Rockets host the Lakers on Sunday.
The Celtics on Tuesday.
Then travel to New orleans on Wednesday, Golden St on Friday and Phoenix on Saturday.

wil.

if the 5th team in the west gets the 2nd seed who do they play RJ?

can the 5th team beat the 7th team?

obviously they will be underdogs to make it out of the first round but these guys are a nightmare for anyone they play... does not mean they will win but no one wants these guys in the first round.

And if the Road Warrior says it, it must be true..

That is a brutal stretch right there...we will see exactly what this team is made of right there. You have to think that if they were somehow able to run that gauntlet right there they would be the team to beat out of the west....JMO

West is too close to assume the current seedings will hold.

You already know I think GS beats them with relative ease.

I'd like PHX over the Rockets, just because I don't think Rafer and B-Jax are good enough to expose Nash defensively.

They're not beating LAL, SA or Utah. Just not happening.

That leaves NO and Dallas (assuming the Nugs are the team left out). NO series is tough to call. CP3's the best player in that series, but Houston plays much better defense and Adelman's a significantly better coach than Byron Scott.

I do think Houston beats Dallas.
no one wants these guys in the first round.
You could probably make that argument about any team in the West.

The only thing Houston is beating in the playoffs is their meat. 14 out of the 18 teams on this win streak have been pond scum. Rockets won't hold up mentally against any of the more experienced teams in the West. With that said, they are playing good ball and deserve credit for one of the longest winning streaks in NBA history.
