You ever play Floor Hockey as a kid ?

it was big in Jersey as well....those poor chick goaltenders who would cringe whenever a slapshot was fired

Played floor hockey in gym class for two seasons in junior high, Dallas TX where at the time (mid 70s) there was no NHL in Texas.

We had the Central Hockey League only and no arenas or junior ice leagues until early 80s.

I always got kicked out of gym for checking too hard.

I played it with oversized blades that were made out of foam and an oversized puck(cut out of foam with black tape around it)

I assumed it was because no one could get hurt.

The shots would not lift off the ground. It was lame.

Now, hospital dodgeball was the game in gym class.

never heard of hospital dodgeball ..

We played a game called Doctor Dodgeball which I imagine is the same as hospital dodgeball.
