We know how awesome Stockton's career was although he never won it all.

We don't know how CP3's career will end up but he has already shown to be a great smart player.

Which one do you take?

And he only holds the NBA All-Time Record in Assists AND Steals... 2 Records, one offense, one defense... One of the greatest feats in all of sports in my personal opinion and we'll probably never, ever see it again ever again...

true but i'm not convinced he is better at assists or steals....he just has more because he has played longer and with the mailman

I respect that opion shdw... I just believe the opposite is all lol.... Lots of point guards who have played since the NBA's inception who teamed with other great players, such as he did Malone, and still didn't put up those kind of numbers as Stockton.

And what about the defensive end of the court?

Mailman didn't help him get those record number of steals.

We all know the real reason he doesn't get the credit he deserves.... I don't really have to say it do I lol...

cause he is white? I'd say white guys get overrated rather than underrated if anything.

Stockton made the Dream Team over Isiah
Mullin made it over Dominique
Laentner made it over Shaq

I think Stockton/Malone are both a little overrated though. People have both of them top 25 all time yet they couldn't even make the finals in the West until everyone else got old (Barkley, Dream, Drexler, Magic)

If you got 2 of the best 25 of all time that isn't adding up.

hache i don't think the race card applies to stockton or bird.

if anything stockton doesn't get enough credit because of his daisy dukes

Most guys with longevity get a little overrated because a lot of people just look at career stats.

I never thought Stockton was better than GP when they both were playing.

Pats cmonnnnnnn..... I honestly don't believe that you even believe some of these things and that you only post them to be the opposite lol

Poking fun at ya, but at the same time not sure that you're evaluating someone like Stockton enough....

Now if I was arguing Scott Skiles, who has the NBA Record of assists in one game, with 30, I could see your point... John Stockton is one of the greatest of all time, who owns 2 of the all time records, with being offense, one being defense, and somehow with all of that is one of the most underrated athletes all time...

If him and Malone are both top 25 of all time, how come they couldn't comeout of the West until everyone else got old? Serious question

GP used to ruin him head to head in the mid 90s

Easy choice, I'd take Chris Paul.
