I love Thabeet (and so does my Husky brother Willie) but I don't think he's an NBA #2 pick in the draft.

I would take Thabeet over Rubio, he's a 7'3" freak of nature with lots of upside, only playing basketball for 4 or 5 years now. Rubio seems to have an awful lot of hype given his size and athleticism.

Thabeet goes two, good for him

I like Flynn GTC, Flynn and Curry would have been a great guard combo.

Not sure why your Wolves went for two PGs.

I can't believe the lack of respect being shown the Pitt Panthers, both still available after 3 picks in the 2nd round.

I thought both Young & Blair would have be gone by now.

Hey Fletch, maybe they should have played for Calhoun, eh?

rough go for Young....he really needed to go to a run n gun style team. not a bad land for Blair though.

thabeet at numero dos is a total joke. yeah, i know you can't teach size but that kid has never hit a contested shot beyond 10 feet

Meka has averaged a double double every year of his career, while playing on a bad team.

14 & 11 career averages

you'll be hard pressed to find somebody that should have been drafted a head of him

BTW: I like both Pitt players and think they will prove to be 2nd round steals. If not, then Dixon's recruiting of NBA caliber players will be hurt.

Dixon, and the Pitt program, just took a hit with another year of no first round draft picks. Maybe Fields can star in Europe and then come back.

i hear what you're saying about that '04 draft but it's also an absolutely miserable draft year. Just not a Thabeet fan but also watched him get abused game after game by a 6'7" Blair. But maybe he'll become Mark Eaton...either way he has plenty of coin in the bank

Pitt just doesnt recruit that athletes UCONN does, and im actually happy they dont. I like to see guys stick around for 4 years, as Blair should have as well. He has no polish and isnt a good enough re bounder to make a difference being so small. Blair will be no good in the NBA, mark it down. Sam young on the other hand should be a decent player and he is a guy who will contribute off the bench proving energy and points. I look for Sam young to be one of the steals in the second round.

As far as Thabeet goes Willie, he is by no means a guy who will be a difference maker except for maybe on defense. He doesnt rebound very well although he is a great shot blocker. I really cant see him logging starting starter minutes at any point though in his career. This guy is nothing more then a taller and softer version of Ben Wallace, minus the rebounding. In other words, a bust.

totally agree with you on Blair and Young, Blair cant use his strength so much to overpower and at 6ft 6, despite a 7ft2 wingspan he wont become the anomaly Barkley was...Young on the other hand can become a decent role player.

Thabeet while I agree, his presence will probably only felt on defense still has a lot of upside. The kid has only played 3 years of organized basketball. I dont think his frame will allow much more bulk so he will always have to work in space and cant muscle in traffic. Overall a weak draft class.

Fletch, y'know we only lost 3 sophomores at UConn, so everyone seems to stick around at least three years.

I like Blair, I think his heart and his motor and his low center of gravity and he great hands will make him a very productive NBA player. Very similar to Sir Charles or Paul Mislap.

Thabeet has a lot of learning to do. Experience is the greatest teacher, and this kid just doesn't have a lot of experience. I think people are much too quick to judge him.

Until recently, people were still saying he'd never develop into a lottery pick. The kid has a history of proving skeptics wrong.

Time will tell. Jimmy's kids tend to produce, especially the lottery picks.

Thabeet was well coached at UCONN, if he puts on 20 lbs of muscle in the weight room he'll be an NBA force.

Sam Young is almost as old as Darko

DeJaun Blair's knees are a mess, one examiner said he couldn't even find his ACL's

very interesting shit going on in minneapolis.

so many complexities with rubio. now its come to light that this team rubio is playing on will go bankrupt, which is why there making his buyout incredibly high. he was only making 97,000 a year in spain, but the buyout is 6.6 million. basically screwing ricky over just to save there asses

i have no idea what the hell is going to happen, should be fun. im glad we drafted him though because he is in demand and we'll get something good back from him if we trade him.

flynn im real high on. people say why draft 2 PG's. you stockpile your talent and worry about where they play later. we aint going anywhere for awhile.

ellington at 28 is the steal of the draft IMO. ii think he blows up. guy is a deadly shooter, is quickand gets to the hole, and is one of the best pure shooters in the draft. also has great range.

Not for nothing, but for a guy with a "MBA" you sure have a problem with basic English grammar. I know i know, you are not a English major..... sigh
