Good place for them but only temporary. Meanwhile Manny Ramirez single handedly beat the Dray 6-2 with a grand slam (his 18th. most among active players) and a 2 run shot. Matt Clement picked up his first win with the Red Sox.

pitching and untimely hitting have been the problem this season. The middle relief is a nightmare. Gordon can't pitch with runners on base. A-Rod can't get a clutch hit to save his life.

They will struggle all yr imo. Don't be surprised if the Yanks only beat out Tampa for the AL East celler.

They do this every year...start the season slow and nearly lose in the 1st round of the playoffs.....

I wonder if Torre could be on the hot seat if this continues for a couple weeks?

Manny will more than likely be the alltime Grand Slam leader by the time he's done.

Manny

His 18 slams are the most among active players and tied for second all-time with Robin Ventura and Willie McCovey. Lou Gehrig leads with 23.

11 games into the season and the Yankees will be fighting for last place in the AL East. LMAO!

This will be a good thread to bump in September.

So right now their just toying w/ the opposition? Have you seen their starters pitch this yr? Nothing to brag about. Have you seen their middle relief come in and put out fires? "Flash" Gordon can't pitch w/ runners on base. How many times can you turn to Tanyon Sturtze? I hate to break it to you Mariano his not lights out anymore. Pitching wins. This is really a patchwork group.

Comparing the Yanks to the Devil Rays is going a little too far, don't you think? The Red Sox are the only team that is capable of beating out the Yanks in the AL East. Call me a homer but burying the Yanks 11 games into the season is a little ridiculous.

The Yanks are pitching great today!!! Baltimore smacking them around bad. Good teams do not get swept. They are not a good team.

Didnt Kevin Brown play with the Bambino? Randy Johnson is ready to collect Social Security? Hell George Bush could ptich better than these guys. Steinbrenner was seen muttering to himself "Get Contreras back!"

sweep by the O's..but it's only 12 games right? The Yanks will turn it around. They don't have pitching.
