Yanks - DRays in Japan Part Two.

Yankees major free agent acquisition Kevin Brown is -236 over The Drays Jeremi Gonzalez. The total is 9.5 under (Pinn.). Note about Gonzalez - He was much better on the road last year going 3-4 in 13 starts with an ERA of 3.08 (very nice for the AL.) - Opp Bat. Ave. of only .193. He yielded 58 hits in 84 road innings. Granted the doomed ballpark in Toyko is similar to Trop. Stadium in Tampa so the away stats may not be as meaningful. Bottom line is the guy has good stuff, as does Kevin Brown, still no way I would lay the big price. For anyone looking to catch a little lightning in the bottle (like last night) the Pinny alternate run line has the DRays -1.5 + 396. Almost 4 to 1 and worth consideration. Remember the game is in the Far east and anything can happen. Good luck.

ya i say yanks take this one also. brown looked fine in ST, so as of now he has his stuff/health. the yanks offense will probably explode after all the stuff that had got said following yesterday's game.

Rob - good thinking really. The Yanks look to be the play, but not at the prohibitive price, in what is at best, a dicey enviornment. I see that the Dodgers were 5-6 in Kevin Brown starts in April since 1999 (I know its March) He has pitched decently early in the season, but not great, although he did defeat the Diamondbacks last April 2nd. going 6 innings giving up 3 hits, and 0 runs in Arizona. Pressed I would play a half a unit on the DRays.

this was pretty ugly. brown had everything working and the offense made it look like a game of wiffle ball. boy, i hate these guys.

brown can be healthy all he wants for the first half of the season. im in hopes he saves his yearly injury for august/september.
