If the Yankees would only spend 6 times more on their payroll rather than 5 times, they might be able to catch the Tampa Bay Rays:

Not their fault that baseball is stupid and has no salary cap. Playing by the rules, they just happen to be awful rules.

I agree that it's not their fault that MLB has no salary cap but it is their fault that they can't win in proportion to the amount of money they spend relative to other teams.

Yeah, they should let all their good players go like the shitty teams.

They have not signed a big free agent in years.

You couldn't wait to do that.

This Yankee fan has seen enough.
The backend of the rotation is in shambles, the middle inning bullpen blows, Steinbrenner junior should shoot Cashman for talking him out of the Santana deal, and the real 'clueless Joe' is our in-game manager.
I'm no band wagon jumper, I'll see this through, but it's over, we are done.

Gotta disagree with you after being at today's Angel game, a la slaughter of the Yanks. Some chick in an A-Rod jersey went off the handle when she was told that the Yankees had a legit shot at not making the playoffs.

It was fucking great....:pope:

They are awfully short on pitching with Wang and Chamberlain out, it will be tough to get the WC, I think they don't make the post-season, but some nice late pickups in I-Rod,Nady,Marte, w/o giving up too much.

NYY's need that 10-2 spurt badly, I don't think they get it.

I'd bet them at even ( or maybe -130) to not make the playoffs.

I do not bet with posters.
