Unless Brown`s arm falls off...

Will Mussina finally win 20? No, he will still some how not win 20!LOL

Mussina 19 - 5 LOL, ERA 4.58

This will make Yanks more overrated, its pitching that wins. Soriano was good for 30 dingers himself, so they may gain 5 dingers. I am anxious to take the +250's against that bullpen. Kevin Brown is damaged goods, and Mussina will spend some time on the DL.

I think Vasquez will be their ace...how many will they win Railyard?

Brown has never won in the AL, Mussina is not what he was...but these guys can be 80% and win 18-22 with 6 RPG..

I hate NewYork, but I hate baaahhston more. so Im glad **If** this goes thru. and whoever said the yanks only gain 5 dingers is crazy. try 15-20. their line up is gonna be sick. Imagine going thru this middle of the line up
A-rod, Giambi, Sheffield. Jeter will probably lead off.

Exactly Rail, one has no choice but to be sitting on their hands, or playing +280 versus Boston or NYY.

And the BM's will be waiting out their $20 bettors' Bost/NYY parlays everyday.

My numbers had the Yankees winning 101 games before this; now they are up to 102. A-Rod played in the best hitting park in the American League; he'll be moving to one of the worst. The net gain for the Yankees would be about 25-30 runs. If A-Rod plays shortstop instead of the walking corpse the Yankees have now (move Jeter to 3rd where his 3 foot range won't hurt as bad), then New York are a much much better team. If Jeter stays at SS, it is a decent talent upgrade at a helluva cost. All they did was change their 3rd base hole for a 2nd base hole.

Gotta agree Shotgun, Arod covers more ground, and Jeter does have a great accurate throwing arm that would make for great stabs and lasers to 1st base.

Beantown has a nice staff edge imho.

I would say the line would be about 99.5 - 100.5 but I don't think they'll come close to covering that.

Soriano isn't hot $hit. Seems like every time I watched a Yankees game he was busy striking out at leadoff. I think that's why Torre moved him in the playoffs. I can see why both clubs made the deal but I don't see a clear winner in the aftermath.

This makes the Yankees look better on paper but their main priority is pitching. If their starters don't stay healthy or perform to a high level, they won't make it to the WS. Soriano is a great young player, but A-Rod is more consistent.

The Yankee starters will have the lowest ERA in the AL. People are underestimating this staff.
Contreras isn't being mentioned much but he can be potentially dominating. Witness his late season performances when he finally had the chance to pitch.
Vasquez has a young arm and will provide many quality innings. Mussinais past his prime but still one of the top 5 in the league. Brown is injury prone but so is Schilling (coming off a shitty season compared to Brown)and Pedro (less and less durability as time goes on). Will Schilling be anywhere near his best after last year? How many 6 inning starts can Pedro give you? Seems the Sox have more questions than the Yankees do at this point.
As far as the A-Rod deal versus Faulke? I'll take an all star every day player over a closer any time. Many games that are "saved" would have been saved by half the staff anyway.
Yankee wins: 103
