Yankees traded minor leaguer Marcus Thames to aquire RUBEN SIERRA.....Sierra will fill the void left in the depleted Yankee outfield with Johnson and Williams out...

Sierra, a dumb player with no interest in team concept joins Raul Mondesi in the Yankee outfield two of the most selfish ME ME players, should be interesting...

I'm obviously a huge Yankees fan....but, I just hope that Sierra won't have that "cocky" attitude like something is owed to him.

AWWWWW BOOOO HOOOO the Yanks could'nt just go out and buy a top notch outfielder. Guess they have to settle for table scraps like the rest of the small market teams. Bunch of babies

Next thing I'm going to read.......which all Yankees fans have been hearing for many years now, is that the Yankees "buy" their World Championships.

MY GOD Justin!! Your going to deny that?? OK nevermind the Yanks are just a fine baseball team that builds their solid teams through the system, their player development is just far supperior then everyone else.

Oh yeah almost forgot Joe Torre is a brilliant baseball mind

Two Words Justin.....TV REVENUE...

The Yankees have had the deck stacked in their favor for two decades....Anyone realistically going to deny that?

My favorite was the Subway series what a spectacular baseball event for evryone outside of NY. I was all chocked up watching the two teams with the highest payroll slugging it out. Next to The Florida Marlins and D-Backs winning it all it was baseballs single greatest moment.

Dicky remember when we had series` like CINCY vs BOSTON, or TWINS vs CARDS or MILWAUKEE vs ST.LOUIS Baltimore vs Pittsburgh..

Gee I think baseball was a little more interesting back then.......

If it sounds like I'm jealous it's because I am, I'm a Tiger fan for christ sake. All the series you mentioned were great.

I know and being a baseball purist , this sickens me..Detroit is a dead baseball town, new stadium and all..That is too bad...The sport is in a shambles...

Detroit with their great 35-5 start in 84 , unthinkable now...

I would have mentioned them but that series with SD wasn t that great...They did have some great battles in the old AL EAST..

I'm not denying some things about the Yankees aren't something to raise an eyebrow to. Believe me, I wish I was a bit older to see some of the match-ups you're talking about. Before I came to CR I used to watch ESPN Classic Sports all the time with my father, the biggest Red Sox fan I know.

I know Dicky, same here man. As far as old George goes....he's always lurking behind the scenes but never seems to want to get his name into anything politically incorrect.

The more AB's for Sierra, the happier Toronto and Boston will be. The guy is cooked.

Maybe people who focus on their intense jealousy of the Yankees spending habits should instead pay homage to an owner who is actually spending what it takes to put out a winning team every year instead of pocketing it & laughing to the bank.
