This has been clear for about two months now. The Rays just have a better team. No shame in losing to the Angels on the road today though.

Red Sox road favorite tomorrow with a pitcher with a 1 run higher ERA than opponent.

OTK - naturally you are entitled to your own opinion.

Mo is always terrible in tie games. Not surprising at all.

No offense but I don't buy that. A lousy single is not exactly getting shelled. He has been outstanding plenty of times in tie games over the years.

And if you think back 5 days ago, wasn't it I who told you not to fade Moose on Thursday,he's in a good spot there, but fade NYY all weekend as LAA owns us.

Oh, by no means am I saying he cost them the game. Figgins is a very good hitter as well. I'm just saying Mo allows almost all his runs, if not all, when he comes out of the bullpen in a tie game. There is no one I'd rather have on the mound to pick up a save, but for some reason this year he struggles a bit when coming into a tie ballgame.

I'm sure at least 7 of his 8 runs are from tie games. Not sure why he came into a tie game today though since they were on the road.

IMO the reason the Yankees won't make the playoffs this year is because of their pitching. At this point they really don't have a stopper. Moose has had a suprisingly good year, but I just don't see him as the ace - at least not on a consistent basis. If the Yankees are trully out of it by September I hope they pitch Hughes and Kennedy every 5 days and give them a chance to rebound from a terrible year. I just think the Yankees are fucked long term. They need young talent. Whenever they go into shopping for the biggest free agent available mode, they don't win. Remember the 80's, early 90's? They need to build a core of young stars and supplement them with the occasional free agent - but George and now Hank will probably be too impatient to let that happen.
