Did I miss something ... Watson passed for 420 yards and Clemson had over 500 yards of offense against the best defense in all of college football. Clemson scored 28 points in the 2nd half ... where was the defense??

Defense was worn down because the Bama offense was not eating any clock the 2nd half. Scarborough out, Clemson saw there was no pass threat so they stacked the box, and Sark didn't let Hurts run straight QB runs and draws, so the Clemson D could just focus on stopping the # 2 RB and going after Hurts when he went back to pass.

C'mon now, Clemson put up close to 600 yards on them in the NCG that Bama won the previous year and Bama ran close to 80 plays. Clemson was just a good matchup for the Bama defense. Whether they were tired or not, Clemson was going to move the ball. But the Bama offense when Bo go hurt, really dropped off and they could not get the ball to their other weapons.
