He choked her to death. That's basically what happened to that Yale student. The guy that killed her was just a technician and apparently a control freak. He had no interest in her romantically whatsoever. Apparently he just had issues and needed everything done his way and she must have gotten on her nerves.

Obviously if it wasn't her it would be somebody else somewhere else since he cleared had mental issues. This is the kind of guy that would kill you in a state of roadrage.

This goes to show you that you never know what kind of nut you might set off and end up dying because the guy's a whacko. Wow. What a way to go for an intelligent girl who had a promising career waiting for her. She was about 4 foot 11 and he was a big dude. Imagine how futile her attempts must have been to escape as this guy choked the life out of her. It's really a shame. Hope they lock this idiotic controlling guy up for a long time. Don't give me that crap about he needs mental care.

Carry on..

Yes, exactly. Any half decent lawyer can spin that mental problems card. Dude, nevermind that story, what's up with your avatar!! That's not cool.

That is why I avoid confrontation with people. Tons of people with displaced anger. Who knows how far they will take it.

I understand what you are saying. I use to be a hot head when I was younger but nowadays I fight only when I have to. Some jerk cuts you off on the road and I just brush it off. Not that I am a pushover but I also don't go out looking for trouble.

You get into an argument at some place and next thing you know he is outside waiting for you with a knife and just shanks you before you even see him and that's the end of that. You never stood a chance.

I think there was a thread started about something similar to this by Hacheman or something about would you fight or flight.

Friggin crazy lunatics out there man. No need to confront somebody unless you are backed into a corner or they threaten or insult your loved ones.

The most ridiculous part of this Yale thing (aside from the coverage and the media's hope that it was a runaway bride situation) has been the comments coming from students there - as though this was some random act of violence, committed by a thug on the street... Quotes like "I'll be more careful walking around at night" and such. Then, of course we find it's someone from within the University (albeit a low-level, quasi-janitorial dude within the university). I don't think mase, walking with friends at night, or anything else would've helped that poor girl.

Oddly, a killing of a young man at Harvard last year went virtually unnoticed, most likely because the young man killed wasn't a student and was attempting to sell drugs to students... But the comments coming from those within the University were similiar, essentially blaming the community around the university when it was the students who were attempting to buy the drugs (and who invited the killers to be in on the deal).

My point being that between people's (largely unjustified)fear of the very communities they live in, and some selective reporting by the media one could get a completely distorted idea of the places these events took place and the people who live there, even after discovering who the killers in each instance were.
