You can sit in a lovely restaurant in Niagara Falls, Ontario, watch the Falls themselves (they are on the Canadian side) and stare at Niagara Falls, NY.
You will always know what side of the border you're on just by glancing around. You'll understand what I mean when you get here.

Drinks it is! Shoot me an email with your arrival dates and I'll meet you down there. As for the nearest Bank of Montreal, I'll give one of their branches a buzz in the morning and find out which is closest. I presume you would cross at the Peace Bridge and would be looking to take in the sights for the afternoon, as well? Possibly hit one of the casinos? If so, I'll try to find a branch in that area.
Sean1: ditto what's written above.
Xpanda,
Thanks for the offer of help with the Bank of Montreal.
Casino?!? I'll definitely be visiting there but only after I make my deposit for fear of having very little left after I leave the casino :lolBIG:
I was actually looking up distances to some cities in Ontario last night and realized Toronto is only 100 miles away from Buffalo ("only 100" may seem strange to some people - but when you have lived in the Washington DC Metro area for 19 years and spend upwards of 1-2 hours in a commute, a drive to Richmond (90 miles away) seems like a walk in the park) and Hamilton is a mere 60 miles from Buff. I've heard great things about Toronto and might head up there for the weekend.
I have a bit of flexibility in my dates in Buffalo. I'll likely be there between November 13th and 17th or November 27th and December 1st (the government is not big on planning any contractor training the week of Thanksgiving). I plan on using the Friday, Saturday (and possibly Sunday, if I decide to drive up to Toronto) porition of the trip to make the deposit, play the slots and take in the sites. I'm looking right now to find out when I could catch a local hockey game (either Sabres, Maple Leafs or the AHL team in Hamilton) and will cement my travel dates depending on what team is playing at home.
BTW, is the email just
xpanda@therx.com?
Sean1 - maybe the dates I've listed above would work for you also. Drinks are best shared in large groups
As an aside, does anyone know of any good areas (I'm sure there are multiple) in Buffalo/Niagara Falls to get in some quality trailrunning?
