MILWAUKEE (AP) The Cincinnati Reds blew their biggest lead since 1930, falling 10-9 to the Milwaukee Brewers in 10 innings Wednesday night after leading by nine runs.
Bill Hall drove in the winning run with a bunt single in the 10th inning, and tied it with a three-run double in the eighth. The Reds last wasted a 9-0 lead on Sept. 28, 1930, in a 13-11 loss to the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field.
Trent Durrington led off the 10th with ground-rule double off Tood Van Popple (1-1) that hit off the top of the right-field wall. Scott Podsednik, who had four hits, then sacrificed Durrington to third before Hall bunted him in.
Dave Burba (2-0) pitched the 10th for the victory.
