The ALL-STAR Game?
The MLB doesn't do a very good job of promoting baseball...it's almost like they don't care. They want the fans to VOTE for the All-Star players but that's about it.
1) No reward to the fans for their efforts
2) No contests to win if you vote
3) No prizes associated with the All-Star game from MLB or give aways
4) No contests, prizes etc from ANY of the BIG sponsors.

The ALL-STAR Game Tahiti Giveaway!

It was 70 years ago this summer that Major League Baseball first convened its greatest players onto the same field for this game. Managers Connie Mack and John McGraw picked their starters, and to such legends as Lou Gehrig, Charlie Gehringer, Pie Traynor and Lefty Grove, it was peer recognition in a best-of-the-best setting that would become ingrained in all sports. To NL starter "Wild Bill" Hallahan of the Cubs, it was a chance to be "on the same field as Babe Ruth." Mack took it so seriously that he substituted a player only once in that first All-Star Game.
This year it counts as much as ever, if not more. The league that wins the All-Star Game will have home-field advantage in the World Series. So fan voting will have a direct bearing on October as well as July. With the record number of online votes this year, it's clear that a lot of people took this starter-selection process as seriously as Mack.
Selig...you're a sleepy OLD MAN and you're KILLING baseball !!!
