no back ups, i was thinking of doing a back up of the forum days before this mess.

General, seeing that the sole forum that was vandalised as brutally as any was the soccer one i ve come to the following two conlusions:
a. infopop blows bigtime, i am a computer science masters and it's unacceptable by any standards to not have made ANY back ups of a forum for over a fvcking year.
b. the hacker must have some peculiar dislike with this soccer forum, either a competitor or some estranged poster. It's more than a coincidence for me that the single forum that was completely blown away just happened to be the soccer one, out of all the forums the rx has, one of the less frequented one. Usually hackers are not malicious, and any hacking attempts are to prove some point and make something known, why on earth would such a hacker just rip the soccer forum apart and not any other...

That is what I think too.
And given the fact that the most serious sport gamblers these days bet on the European football. This is apart from the given fact that world-wide betting is the biggest on the European football anyhow. We may have underestimated the importance of this forum. Or importance it was getting. I can imagine the forum has been attacked for that reason, but what would the true motivation have been?
