A lot of circuit grinders left in this one. Although there aren't alot of big name pro's this one is destined to be one of the most technical final tables in years. This group is one hell of a tough table. The odds on favorite has to be JC Tran with his chipstack. This guy is absolutely amazing....one of the best out there. I am rooting for Ryan Riess, this kid has been grinding the circuit for a while. If you are on the circuit you know Ryan, he's not only serious tough competition but a great guy. I've FT'd 2 circuit events with this guy... He went on to smash the competition in both. GL Ryan!

JC Tran would be the favorite out of this group with the lowest stack even imo. He is pretty solid from what I have seen.

I was at what they called "the secondary" feature table in the main for about the last 6 hours of the day early in the tournament, but espn will chop the hell out of the early stages of the tournament. They did film a few hands I was involved in with a really big name pro that may make the cut though. They taped a few tables I was at in various events throughout the month. Some of it could potentially make the cut. There was a particularly odd hand that went down in a 5k NL tournament that I'm pretty sure will make the cut.

JC tran is a absolute beast and is easily a odds on favorite with even half his stack... But I promise you Riess can play with anyone in the world and play at their level and beyond... This guy will make waves over the next few years in the tournament game. Go Riess go!

Time for the hype to begin for 4 months (not a big fan of this).. I would rather it be like 2 weeks away and have espn run marathon until then puff_>>

If I was a player I would like it. This is the biggest moment of your life... and you have time to study your opponents, maybe make some changes to your game. Plus you get to ride that high for 4 months

For those that weren't following: Carlos Mortensen - 2001 Champ went out in 10th place. That would have been a nice story line.

Yeah, I have read several of the final 9 get a lot of coaching, etc. This is the route I would go, no better investment than trying to improve your game at this point. I would be playing lots of smaller tournaments too to keep sharp.

I'd imagine all players except the kid that works for a night club would rather keep gaming...he's the only one I see that will being it from coaching.

i think the best way to spend your time would be to analyze every second of video of the other 8 guys looking for tells. also looking at every second of your own video looking for anything they will pick up on, and either stop doing it or pick a big spot and do a reverse tell...

If I was one of the respected players left in this final 9 I'd be meeting with a few players that I feared/respected and working some deals.

Just booked my next poker trip Aug 22-29 Seminole Hard Rock... 5300.00 buyin... 10 million guaranteed prize pool. This is a unheard of event that will most likely smash the guarantee. This was the talk of the WSOP, every player will be there pro and amateur alike. I bet this thing hits closer to 15 million in payout.

More importantly unk asked if I'd be willing to buy half his action.. Honestly there are 20-50 guys I know that I'd buy parts of before I'd buy any unk. I did tell him if he would be willing to paint my bike (unk is amazingly a amazing custom painter) I'd pay him in advance so he could play the tournament and just paint my bike while he is laid off this winter. That means he has to come up with about 2k less than the buyin. So... The plan is, ride the bike to unk's shack and we are riding in unk's truck to Florida.... Not a chance this old Chevy makes it. Then I'm flying home. I've only rode in the truck once with unk... Even when he isn't hammered, he drives like it. This one will be interesting fellas!
