the history is there in black & white coach.... if we wanna look at the history & the level of maturity in which it was handled with: vile threats & such before even allowing monday morning to come around? I am glad this all worked out.

I do not think anyone should be ashamed of themselves.

I think it would have been better if Smokey could have handled this in private, but I understand how hard it is to keep quiet when you are upset and not really getting answers. I hate to see books like WSEX thrashed in public, but I was also surprised by WSEX's unwillingness to correct the error quickly.

That being said, I've had more than one situation where I've had an argument with a book -

One where the book said a +200 was a bad line when other books had +160 or +170. 200 seemed reasonable to me and canceling the bet 2 days after it won did not seem reasonable to me.

I had a situation with a book where I sent them a western union at their request because they did not want to run $20K through neteller. They credited my account. WU blocked the transfer because they thought it was gambling, but did not notify anyone - me or the book (Or at least I did not get the notice). Eventually WU refunded the money to me 2 months later via check. Although I had played at the book for almost 10 years, the book did not want to pay the $2500 in winnings I had even though WU was their choice and we both thought the money had been there for 2 months.

I had a situation years ago where a bet of mine was actually changed and I had a print out of the correct bet. This was a long time ago when software sucks.

I had a slow pay for a month...

In any case, in all 4 cases, I was able to resolve the matter in my favor. In all 4 cases, I was right. I am sure I have had spots where I have screwed up and the book was right and we resolved in their favor. I have found sending an email - attention president and manager, your response needed in 24 hours containing information about the problem and a statemen that the situation will be posted on 100 forums (List them) in 3 days always gets you a response. It is fair to the book and gives them at least 1 business day to fix the problem.

Sitting on the phone with useless clerks will never resolve a problem with a book. One concise email stating what you want and what happened in the right hands almost always will be addressed. Books appreciate it and usually will help you.

I appreciate it smokey,

my main goal was to get people see both sides of the story, which I think helped, Of course, I was also an advocate of taking a deep breath & making sure things did not get out of control, remember, I remeinded everyone to wait a day or so, this error occured on saturday at 6pm & everyone was up in arms that it was not corrected immediatly, it turned out they decided to pay in full on monday morning. I also emplored everyone remain calm & deleted some posts that would have surely enfuriated WSEX & could have made the matter much worse. Am I perfect? of course not.... disagree with how some of the people behaved in this case though, really opened my eyes!!!! I understand that you were furious & it was hard for you to withhold your anger, but some others here should really look in the mirror..... not even allowing 1 or 2 days to pass & letting the issue resolve itself was immature & bush league by many posters here & remind me of kindergarden antics. Especially when dealing with an A+ shop like WSEX, not giving them an official chance to respond was wrong.

I will give you a call later this evening smokey.

Woofy, from what I understand about WSEX is that there is NO value there. IE, NO low juice, NO early lines, and NO unique lines. I have accts at other books that have at least ONE of those attributes. As someone that looks for VALUE, I will NOT be opening an acct there. If we did NOT have the RX to voice issues like Smokey had, he would still be paid only $602 dollars. I wonder if someone else was in Smokies predicament and IF they got paid. I never like to say NEVER, but I hope that I NEVER have to play at WSEX! I admit that I have been a little over the top on this issue but that was how strongly I felt. LT

Glad the issue was resolved in your favor. I tried to look at it objectively and point out both sides of the issue.

If nothing else this should serve as caveat emptor for those that play horses. ALWAYS check to see if the house has a cap on their bets.

Had it not been for the ambiguous wording, you would be out of luck and money. To hit the trifecta on the Derby is a wonderful thing, congrats!
